Tomorrow marks 6 weeks!!!

It's almost 6 weeks to the day that Kallie made her entrance into this world. WOW! Time flies! She is such a beautiful baby and brings a smile to my face everytime I look at her. We are still having trouble at night. She gets very restless- I guess I'll go ahead and classify it as "colicky" as much as I don't want to! I know a lot of babies go through this time- I just keep in my mind the song "it won't be like this for long". I try to treasure every moment, good and bad. I remember thinking after I brought Kallie home how I was crazy to think things were tough when it was just Kensley.... but I am reminded at night that whether you have 1 or 6 kids, the infant stage is tough, really tough. The cries and screams are heartbreaking and the fact that sometimes NOTHING will help those cries and scream just makes for an irritated mommy. Again.... "it won't be like this for long". (If you haven't heard the song, go listen to it. It's by Darius Rucker) I'm going to try to really watch my diet now and start limiting my milk intake. I had to do this with Kensley and while it was totally worth it, I sure did miss my milk. I was really getting happy that Kallie hadn't had any belly issues and I was able to eat whatever. Hopefully it's nothing too major.

This past weekend Megan came up and visited. We had a nice, relaxing weekend (relaxing as it can be with two little ones). We didn't do anything..... looking back, I wish we could have done something, but Saturday was a nasty day and we couldn't go outside. We ate at Kobe's Japanese Steakhouse Friday evening. I took advantage because I know she loves Japanese steakhouses and Kent won't go there with me! Kensley did very good- she ate all of her steamed rice and then some chicken off my plate. Kallie slept the whole time.... almost.... we had to hold her a little :) Kensley really took to Megan- it was really sweet. She was calling her "Gan" (sounded like "uh-GAN". She woke up asking where she was on Saturday. She ended up going upstairs and sitting with her to drink her milk. They came back down soon after to watch cartoons. She asked about her again this morning when she woke up. Here's a picture of her and "GAN"!

5 Weeks

Well, this week Kallie turned 5 weeks old! :) Time is flying by! Here is a picture I took of her....

Last night was a rough night for Kallie. I'm not sure what was wrong with her. She tossed and turned and didn't hardly eat. I kept trying to feed her when she woke up (like she usually does) but she didn't want anything. She wasn't hot and feverish so I wasn't sure what was wrong. She hasn't had a dirty diaper in a day or so and she never spit up last night. I have no idea. But I do know it was a loooong night. (I did have her outside with me yesterday and it was a little windy.... I didn't have a blanket on her and she had on what she has on in the picture above....

Weekend in NJ

This past weekend was filled with traveling and friends. We headed up to H's 2nd birthday party. Karissa did a GREAT job in planning- there were a lot of kids and they had a blast. It was so funny- Kensley enjoyed playing with the older girls- she's not real big on playing with kids her age. She's a mess.

As far as the traveling goes- it took us almost 5 hours to get there. The girls did great. Kallie slept the whole time and only ate once. Kensley watched TV, ate dinner and slept here and there. She's not the best sleeper in the car- so she was awake most the time. We finally got to their house around midnight. Kensley ran around and played with the cats for a little bit and then I put her to bed. It's always interesting when you travel with little ones- this was our first big trip with both the girls..... thanks to lots of prayers, things went very well.

Here are a few pictures from the party.....

Kallie slept most of the afternoon/evening.... so this was a quick picture!

Kensley wanted to help open the gifts

Here's just a few of the kids that were there.... the fire truck came and they LOVED it!

The girls hanging out on the couch watching Madagascar

She loved the cozy coupe!

She loves big girls... have I mentioned that before? :)

The morning after the party... she went on a ride with Kylie. She loved it! We're going to have to get her one of these!

Just call me a hairstylist :)

Kensley's hair was growing like crazy in the back - I've already trimmed it once- she was probably 15ish months old. This time was a lot harder, but I got it done! It's not the best job, but it'll do. :)

Here are some pictures to share...

possible announcement picture

I'll post this on my blog because not many people read this - I edited a picture from this morning's photo session.... this is what I've got so far.

My color is still off. I took it in her room and the walls are all pink. So there was a HORRIBLE pink color cast! I'm going to keep working on the pictures once I get in bed.... which will be soon, hopefully!

What a great weekend!

It went by waaaay too fast! We had Kent at home on Friday, which was really nice. It's so nice to have him home in the mornings- he'll get Kensley out of bed and get her some milk and bring her back in the bedroom to watch cartoons. It's nice to get to sleep a little more since I seem to be up a LOT during the night!

Kallie is still not sleeping long periods at night. She wakes up every 2.5-3 hours. She's slept in her crib a couple nights, which is nice because she's a grunter. Last night she slept in her bassinet for the first stretch and then her crib the second stretch and then our bed the last stretch. Maybe she'll sleep longer than 3 hours at a time soon.

Her tear ducts are still clogged. I have to wipe her poor eyes out constantly, it seems. I massage them too, so hopefully they'll clear up soon. Her baby acne come and goes. Sometimes it looks really bad and sometimes it's very mild. She's starting to lose the little bit of hair she had. :( It looks funny because it's just on top. I told Kent she looked like my grandaddy!! :) Kensley never had any hair to lose, so this is all new to us.

Speaking of Miss Kensley- she is cutting her molars.... one by one. She is a great teether and has done wonderful. She's not super fussy at all. She'll open her mouth and I'll get a peek in there and another is breaking through! She's almost got both of her bottom 1 year molars completely in. She was late teething, so they all came in at once. Her top ones are making their way in too. It's amazing how much she's changed in the past 6 months.

I'm about to work on birth announcements for Kallie. They have the CUTEST matching outfits, but OF COURSE, I asked Kensley to take a picture and she yelled "NO!" and started running away.... I'll keep trying to get something! :) I'm off to start editing some of the pictures I got this morning of my chunky monkey.

Camera/Edit crazy today!

I took some pictures today and for some reason have been editing away! I'm having fun! These were taken tonight at bedtime. Kensley and Kallie watched Dora together. :)

And here's a picture of Miss Kallie with her eyes OPEN! She sleeps SO MUCH.... I hope that's normal- she is awake a *little* more now.... but she still loves her sleep!

Well, Kallie was 3 weeks old yesterday! Where has time gone?! Here is a picture of her at 3 weeks... she's such a chunk!!!

We had a friend over this morning to play... Kensley had a good time and Kallie slept the whole time. :) It's been so hot outside that we have stayed in all day. What happened to SPRING weather! This is more like TEXAS weather! :)

Here are a couple from our little photoshoot this afternoon for Kallie's 3 week picture. Kensley is a mess!

Easter 2010

It just doesn't seem right that it's Easter and we're not in Texas with our family. I missed the Easter Pageant too! My inlaws came into town to visit and we had a nice time. Kensley had her first Easter egg hunt. She did great and had a blast. It was put on by the mom's group I'm in. There were PLENTY of eggs and not a ton of kiddos.

There was also a great playground area. Kensley loved it and could have stayed at the slide for a hour!

We also celebrated Nana's birthday. She turned 47! Kensley helped open her gift and blow out her candles.

Now that our company is gone, we're trying to rest up. Kensley was worn out! She went to bed at 8 last night and probably would have went earlier if I would have had her ready! Here is a picture from last night- Kallie loves to be held and I believe she was having some tummy issues last night. I was able to put her in the bouncer for a little bit while I made dinner.

We've had a nice, relaxing morning so far. Kensley has been able to play with her toys and McCoy. She's down for a nap now. So I better take advantage of this time! LOTS to get done!!!
