We went to a SUPER small pumpkin patch at the local YMCA. It was cute- and the girls got to buy their own small pumpkins. We'll go to a big one after Halloween- our weekends are just too jammed packed to fit it in before then!
Here are a few pictures. Kallie would NOT get her outfit on- but Kensley LOVES hers. And so do I! Hopefully she'll love it all week :) We have a few places to wear it!
We went to some good friends' house the weekend of Halloween. Karissa can throw some GREAT parties! She decorates great and pulled off some super cute treats! The kids had a blast and we enjoyed hanging out with friends.
Miner & Cowgirl
Kensley refused to wear her Jesse costume most of the night. :( So she made up her own outfit!
For some reason, I am all about new beginnings this year. I have a list that keeps growing of things I want to "change" in the new year. I feel so overwhelmed right now- I have ADD (self diagnosed ;)) and feel like my mind never stops and I FORGET so much! Kent is always messing with me about it---- I wonder if there are any vitamins I can take to help my brain?! If you know of anything, please let me know! :) So with all of that, I am ready to get myself organized and kick off this new year with a positive attitude!
1. Eat healthier
2. Become a regular at the gym
3. Get organized
4. Keep social networking at a minimum - this one is tough. I am a Facebook addict. Blah. I have a love/hate relationship with it. It wastes SO much of my time- even though I just hop on a minute here and a few minutes there. I end up not getting ANYTHING done during the day. So I had decided I was going to deactivate my account.... WELL, if I do that, I won't have access to my business account. :bangshead: So I have to keep it- but the solution I've came up with is deleting the app from my iPhone and iPad. I think it'll be a good "break". I need it. I'll still get on- just at the end of the day...
5. Set aside time every day to spend with God.
6. Do crafts with the girls at least 3 times a week
7. Be stricter on the girls. I need to tighten up the reins..... A lot. :/
Here are some pictures from our big New Years Bash. HA! Note: Megan & Christian had to leave early (around 10) because their little boy wouldn't go to sleep. Poor guy, wanted to par-tay with us! ;) Kent is now in bed and it is 11:00. I'm sitting on the back porch listening/watching random fireworks. And you know what? I am totally fine with this low key New Years. I'm here at home with my family-- that's all that matters :)
Kent has been off and we always love that since it's rare! He got a new bow so we went outside to watch him shoot it. Kensley decided she wanted to help out retrieving the arrows. ;)
Excuse these awesome HUGE hats. lol The girls have had the crud and it was cool outside- I still haven't unpacked our winter things from Virginia--- so we had to use Poppy's hats. :)
I love this picture of Kallie. She doesn't look really happy but I just love how the light hit her eyes- such a beauty! ;)
We got a new 4wheeler--- Kensley FINALLY got on it!
*I haven't taken many pictures AT ALL this holiday. :/ not sure what my deal is! This day was the first day I took my camera out since Christmas- it was so rainy the entire weekend- the sun had FINALLY peeked out! So it gave me a little energy, I guess. but as you can tell by the last picture, Kent wasn't too thrilled the camera had made its way back out. HA!
What a fun time! With the girls being older, I think we got a dose of how Christmases will be for a while. ALOT of toys. ALOT. Kent and I should have just stuffed their stockings! HA!
This was from the night before Santa came. He came early to our house because we were in Mexia on the official Christmas Eve. The girls spread the reindeer food out and we put fruit & water out for Santa. We thought he would enjoy some healthy food during the night. ;)
The girls didn't get too much from us. I don't think? haha We did get them a bounce house- that was their "together" gift from Santa. And he did GREAT- they LOVE it!! Other than that, it was little things- and more art supplies! I really want to start doing more crafts with them.
*The bottom left picture is Kensley's dollhouse. It's actually a HUGE work in progress, but for now, it serves its purpose. Once she grows out of the dollhouse stage, we can convert it back to a book shelf or buy those baskets to store stuff in it. I found the idea on Pinterest.
*The teal beanbag-looking thing in the top left picture is a bag to put stuffed animals in. It's awesome! You can stuff all those pesky stuffed animals the kids get on special holidays and not have to look at them laying around the bedrooms all year long. It's fantastic :) It's made by Boon.
The morning after Santa came, Daddy went in to work late so the girls could open their gifts.
We headed to see family later that evening. Saturday was full of gift opening and good laughs with family. The girls had a blast.
[CHRISTMAS AT BARBARA & JR RAY'S]
Christmas morning- Stockings at Poppy & Nonnie's & gifts at Grumpy & Nana's!
After opening gifts at Grumpy & Nana's, it was off to Ging's house!
Overall, we had a great Christmas- Santa treated everyone well ;) It was great to spend time with family- and the best part of all was listening to Kensley talk about Baby Jesus, Mary & Joseph. Too sweet!
