TIGTh! ;)

Well, it's almost the weekend! Yay! We've just about survived this week with the nasty snot and colds. Surely this weekend everyone will be better, right? (Please, God!!!) :)

Kallie has been fighting a nasty, cold. She's full of snot and can barely breathe! And she has been super fussy. I've been giving her some benedryl and it's helped a TON!

Kensley is the one who brought this lovely cold home from school a couple weeks ago. So it's just lingered around. She still has a little snot but not much at all. I think she's had some kind of sinus- she keeps saying her head hurts.

Early risers----- the girls have always gone to bed around 8-8:30 and woke up around 8. It was so nice to be able to get up at 7 and have roughly an hour before they woke. Well, not anymore! Kallie will go to bed between 7-8 and then wake up between 6-6:45! Kensley goes to bed around 8:30 and wakes up around 5:45-6! Some mornings it's closer to 6:30. These girls are crazy! I'm ready for the time change. :)

I'm going to ask for some prayers..... I think I'm just about ready to tackle the two things on my to-do list that I dread the most. Kensley = no more paci and Kallie = no more nursing. Now I didn't say I was starting these two things immediately. I just wanted to ask for some prayer before hand because I'm sure I'll need a lot of it! :) My friend Casey just broke her daughter of the paci and she said it wasn't too bad. I am just scared--- mainly because Kensley KNOWS when I am vulnerable. And that is when I am nursing Kallie to go to sleep (bad habit, I know). So if she doesn't have her paci, she'll bust through the door in Kallie's room and ask for it. Well, then I can't get Kallie to sleep! So yea, she's got me where she wants me there. Which leads me to my second most dreaded thing on my to-do list: stop nursing Kallie. I am not going to stop until she's a year. Just a personal goal of mine and honestly, I think Kallie would go until she's about 6 years. But no worries, it's not happening ;) She nurses to sleep for naps AND bedtime. Lately, she's been nursing before bed and she's still awake when I put her down. I'm ready to be able to not worry about her drinking milk if I'm not around. I'm ready to get out and stay away from the house for a night (Mom-- can you move closer to us, please?) haha I feel like I can see a little freedom at the end of the tunnel (but please don't think I haven't enjoyed nursing SO much.... it's probably going to make me cry when she stops) Anyways, these two things are in my mind.... not going to happen within the next week (although Kent thinks he would have broke Kensley from her paci months ago. Whatever.) But I just need to pump myself up about them before I implement my plan.

Enough babbling today- both girls are down for a nap (Kensley asked to go in her bed.... why? Because she wanted her...........yes....... paci) Ugh.

Here are a few pictures to share from a couple nights ago.

First picture- I accidentally put Kallie's pants on backwards. Oops. :)

It's not as bad as it looks. haha She hit Kallie with her barbie so I had to take it away!

It's HIPstamatic!

I have heard about this app quite a bit but have never downloaded. Well, my camera battery needs to be charged (as well as my speedlite batteries) and I didn't really feel like getting it out. I hadn't blogged in a while so I thought I would blog our evening. :) So I downloaded Hipstamatic and LOVED it!

One of my FAVORITE meals is chicken spaghetti. My mother-in-law makes it and I LOOOOOVE it! Some of my favorite foods are her dinners! It's super easy.

- Rotisserie (sp?) chicken
- 1 can of cream of chicken
- 1 can of cream of mushroom
- noodles
- 2 cans of chicken broth
- Velveeta cheese

Bring your water (+2 cans of broth) to a boil

Mix together cans of soup with the noodles and chicken & top with slices of velveeta. Place in oven (350 degrees) for roughly 15 minutes (or until cheese is melted)

We also had these. YUM!

This is what was going on while I was cooking. These girls can wreck havoc in about 5 seconds now! But they're so cute while doing it ;)
*sorry about Kensley's face- I promise it wasn't nasty like that- that's what the app did!

Being silly :)

Dinner was a hit!

This is what was going on while I was cleaning the kitchen. Kallie stayed busy putting the lid to my lipgloss in and out of the pan. Who needs toys?

Dinner was done.... now I had to work on getting clothes out to consign/sell. Fun fun! (It makes my stomach turn a little, honestly. I really am having a hard time letting go of all these baby clothes. :( )

So there you go.... our night..... HIPstamatic!

11 months!

Happy 11 months to Kallie!

Updates on her growing:

Eating
- turkey lunch meat
- sliced cheese / shredded cheese
- water
- fruit cups
- yogurt
- puffs
- yogurt melts
- graham crackers
- bananas
- gold fish (only if Kensley drops them!)
- Whole milk! (she's not a huge fan... I think because I give it to her cold. She'll sip on it though)
- blueberry waffles
- Gerber ravioli
- Steamed broccoli

She still nurses 3-4 times a day. She nurses to sleep.

She sleeps all night long. Usually 8pm-8am, roughly.

She naps once a day. AHHH! ;) She'll get fussy in the moorings, but refuses a nap. She usually goes down around 1 and sleeps for 2-3 hours.

She LOVES LOVES bathtime. Like, she tries to climb in the tub every time the bathroom door is open. If Kensley is tee teeing, Kallie is in there by the tub... trying to get in. She splashes like crazy.

She stands now-- and she can get into the standing position without holding on to anything!

She has the funniest personality. She is always so happy and talks ALL the time! She's not shy, at all! :)

Hello beautiful weather!

What a great way to start off the week AT HOME! :) The weather has been gorgeous. I've had the blinds opened all day, soaking in the sun. We are back on a routine and it's SOOO nice. I don't think I'll ever travel again. HA ;)

We went from having these hanging off the roof

(excuse the horrid edit... I got lazy and didn't feel like fixing it)

...to a few mounds of snow scattered around that are left over from the snowfall weeks ago.

This was from the morning after we got home. Kensley woke up early and wanted some milk so I walked downstairs to get her some and saw this. It was so beautiful!

Now that we're home, Kensley has been able to play with all of her toys. She has asked to play with her Dora playdoh every day. We also got her crayons out so she could color. (we do her arts and crafts while Kallie is napping.... much easier!)

Here's the girls having lunch on Valentine's day. (Kensley had a blast on her first day back to school!)

Today, we got to go outside! The sun has shined all week but the wind was pretty strong. Today it was PERFECT! As you can see, Kensley was ok to go out with no jacket. (eh, she probably could have worn one... but she was ok- she kept pulling it off)

We had a lot of fun being outside.... however, we missed our neighbors :( Just to let it be known- God is so great. When we moved up here last year, I was nervous. This is so far from "home". I'd never lived in any other state. Luckily we moved up here with some close friends.... but I was still worried about our neighbors. We were blessed beyond words. I had one of THE most caring, friendly neighbors. Our lives were so much alike, yet still so different. What we were going through gave us a common link. I shared so many laughs and it was so nice to have someone I could vent to/have dinner nights/help me out with the girls/work out with/the list goes on and on. ;) Anyways, enough of the sappy stuff- can you tell I miss her and her girls?! They moved over the holidays and it's just not the same around here anymore. Kensley kept asking for the girls today. Geez- I'm already having a hard time with it! Now I have a constant reminder when I have to tell her "they're not home. they moved away". So now she'll say " the girls moved." Anyways, this picture is for them! She wanted to ride her bike and she thought something was in the little bag on the front. I opened it for her and she found these two little stones. She actually high jacked them from our neighbor's flowerbed last spring. There was some little artwork the girls made for their yard that had stones in them. Anyways, Kensley carried them around and played with them the whole time we were outside. In the picture, she was trying to jump over them.

And lastly---- I had a date night tonight with a good friend! We had a blast :) It sure is nice to get out without the kiddos sometimes

Check out my photography blog to see some pictures from our play date on Tuesday!

Goodnight!

Time to get on a schedule....

**FINALLY getting around to actually publishing this blog from Monday! I was waiting to get the pictures ready :)

We are home! Yay! We have been traveling since the beginning of December and I have never been so giddy about being at home. For all those times I talked about how I really don't care for a townhome and yadayadayada.... I am taking that back! I LOVE my house! I LOVE where I live! I am so glad to be back. Now.... there is a flip side to this..... but I won't go into detail because this is a public blog. Anyways, I'm glad to be back home.

We were recently visiting upstate NY and it is SOOO dreary out. It's bad. Like, depressing bad. Gray skies EVERY day. I can count on one hand how many days the sun shined (and that was just a few hours of the day). DEPRESSING. We have been home for 48 hours and the sun has shined more in those two days here than it did the past month in NY! I feel refreshed! Kent & I worked hard all weekend to get things unpacked. It took forever! Suitcases are now put up and everything is in its place. I still have to go through Kallie's clothes and pull our Kensley's old clothes and then go through Kensley's clothes. That is a huge chore! But I can't wait to go shopping for some clothes for the girls!

I haven't had time to take many pictures.... so here are a few.

This is taken from my phone. This was what our house looked like when we got in. DISASTER ZONE!
***OOOPS couldn't get that cell pic to work.... ugh.... *****

This is what it looks like now. (I am working on selling toys.... we have to make room for new toys that Kallie will be getting for her birthday!) Looks like we could run a mini daycare- ha! We need a playroom! That will be in our next house, hopefully! :)

This is what the bookcase & living room looked like when Kensley & Kallie were done with it. I am about to have to start teaching how to pick up after playing with toys! This is crazy!

This is a mat I bought to put under the table or chairs when Kensley is eating or doing artwork. Needless to say, she didn't eat much dinner tonight.... she was too intrigued by this! She loved the "pairies" (fairies).

Here are the girls opening their Valentine's cards. They racked up in the mail today!

It's now Wednesday and we have gotten back into a routine- YAY! It didn't take as long as I expected. We are really enjoying the beautiful weather here. I'll make another blog post soon with new pictures! :)
