Kensley's never been the one to be head strong in what she wears. She was in rare form tonight! She had us cracking up. I have a video of her running around like a crazy woman singing to that new song.... something like "you think you're cooler than me". It was pretty funny. Then after her bath, she ran around naked and wouldn't let anyone put her diaper on. I got it on her once but she proceeded to take it off. SOOOO- she found her swimsuit and wanted it on. I told her if she put her diaper on she could put her swimsuit one. I got a big "oooohhhhh!!!!" after I told her that. So, here she is brushing her teeth before bedtime in her swimsuit.

Pictures to share
Here are just a few pictures to share.....
She's found her feet!
She's found her feet!
I had to put her in the high chair one day because she wanted to be in the same room as mommy! I had to clean up the kitchen- she was very content in here. (Maybe we'll start some cereal soon!)

Kensley loves to help her Poppy out. She thought she'd try to help him grill. (Note: She was NOT actually touching the grill!)

Playing around
We've stayed busy today so far. We got up this morning and played a little. I decided to pack the girls up in the stroller since it was pretty nice outside and take them on a walk. We got back just in time- it was getting pretty hot. Then we had an unexpected visit from my great-aunts. It was nice to have them over. Then we headed to Ging's to eat lunch. Kensley "helped" Ging in the kitchen- which led to lunch being ready a little later than usual today :) That's ok though! It was SOOO good- man I love the home cooked meals I get when we're here. We get to see Daddy this weekend- WE ARE SO EXCITED! We miss him a LOT.

A good read....
Well, I am just about finished reading "The Strong Willed Child" by Dr. Dobson.
It has been a great book. I highly recommend it. My favorite part is the Question and Answer section at the end of each chapter. I'm sure I'll re-read it someday....soon. :) I just wanted to recommend this book to all of you mommies! :)
The next book I'll be reading is "Shepherding a Child's Heart". Whitney recommended this book so I thought I would pick it up. I'm looking forward to reading it.
And to all you teachers out there- I SOOOO wish I could use these books as some of my continuing education hours. Surely I could, right?! I also recommend teachers that will be working with teenagers to read some books by Dr. Dobson. I really feel if I would have read some about discipling young adolescents, I could have had a better class the year I taught. Teenagers are tough (7th & 8th grade). Just after reading The Strong Willed Child, I feel like I have a LITTLE better understanding of the different stages kiddos go through.
Well, enough of all that..... let me know if you read either one of these books! And what your thoughts are :)

Pictures anyone?
Well, I am going to attempt to get some pictures of KK for her 2nd birthday invitations. This was my attempt this morning. I edited them with picnik so I wouldn't have this color on the invitation- but these obviously aren't pictures to be used either! eh- I tried. I'll try again later with my "props". But here's what I've got so far..... (we have the noon sun beaming down on us.... hence her head at the top being COMPLETELY blown out!)
shopping trip=success!
Well, Kallie and I headed over to the mall today. I had a lot of things to pick up and it was so nice to have the day with just miss KG. She was a great shopper! First, we headed to Hobby Lobby- oh how I miss that store! I am so ready to move back to Texas. I am SOOOO going shopping there to decorate the house. Love that store (did I already mention that? :) Then we headed next door to a party store. I bought all of the luau gear for Kensley's party. I think it'll be fun. I was going to rent a bounce house but I think I'll hold off this year for it. We'll probably do some small pools and slippin' slides. And big fans. I'm sure this Texas heat will be unbearable! We then headed over to Target. Oh how I miss that store too! That's where I go for groceries and everything else when we're at home- so we've had to settle for Wally world while visiting family. Just not the same- at all! So we went in Target and I ran an errand for my mom- then headed to the little girls' clothes. Oh goodness- I love me some Osh Kosh! I got the girls matching dresses to wear tomorrow. And I picked up some other "stuff". THEN we got to head to the mall! Woohoo! I ran into Gymboree because I have my gym bucks I need to use. They had NOTHING in the store- so I need to get online and order something. After looking in there for the girls, I made a promise to myself that I would NOT shop for the girls. The main point of this trip was to get to shop for ME. I left Kensley with my dad so I could get some "me" shopping done. Kallie didn't mind at all. I ended up getting 5 shirts! Woohoo! And I scored some really cute necklaces that were a part of a clearance- "going out of business" sale. So all in all, I had a very productive day!
I returned home to a little "almost" 2 year old yelling my name and giving me hugs- she's so sweet :) She got to go to her Nana & Grumpy's house for a bit and then came back to eat dinner and play with Mommy, Nonnie & Poppy. She wanted to go for a walk so my parents took her around the block. She would NOT come back in! She ended up out of her stroller and SHE wanted to push it around. She's so cute :)
And tonight.... Kallie, once again, had to have her MOMMA! I always have my parents try to put her to sleep but she is NOT having it. She cried the entire time I was in the shower. She fell asleep and I tried to put her down once but she was still awake and she turned from her belly to her back! So I got her back out for a bit and after playing a little, I tried again. When I laid her in her bed, she was still awake. She didn't fuss- she just talked a little. I decided to leave her alone and she ended up putting herself to sleep- go KG! I need to start doing that now. It would be nice to not have her completely asleep before I put her down.
Well, I have no pictures from today. I haven't taken much because my camera disc is almost full and I need to empty it. I may try to take some pictures for Kensley's birthday card tomorrow. I have an idea- just hope I can get it to work. And Kensley to cooperate. :) We also have family coming in from Colorado tomorrow. My mom's cousins. She doesn't see them very often at all- so she's excited. Especially since all her girls are here (including me!) We're usually not in town when they come in, so this is extra special to my mom. I'm looking forward to a fun day with family!

Happy 4 months!
Our baby girl is 4 months old now.
- She will now take a pacifier! (unfortunately, it's the ugly Soothie- but we'll take what we can get!)
- She sleeps through the night! She'll sleep around 11-12 hours.
- She smiles all the time
- She laughs- on occasion- whenever she wants to :)
- She loves her mommy! That's the only person she wants at night.
- She loves to talk. A lot.
- She doesn't nap very well- or it's not very "routine". One day she'll have two naps, maybe 45 minutes each. The next day she may take a 3-4 hour nap! It's probably because of all our traveling!
- She may be going through her first cold right now. She's a little congested and has a boogy nose. Hopefully it goes away soon. Luckily it's not bothering her any.
And, as always, I had a little photoshoot for Miss KG for a 4 month photo. And here is our result.
Weekend fun
Well, Kent has been here this weekend and we are enjoying him!
While waiting on Daddy to get in, Kensley had her daily popsicle ("sickle") and played in her pool. We do this every afternoon, pretty much. She had a blast yesterday- she played in the pool into the late evening.

We headed out to the land to check on the cows. Kensley did NOT want to get out- she liked the view from the inside of the truck.

That's all we've done today so far. We're headed out to the lake house soon to cook out. It's really HOT outside- sure wish we had a boat! :)

Not a lot going on....
We've had a great week. Just relaxed and enjoyed life. :-) Kensley is loving her pool and likes to yell "AMY!" so she can go next door and swim in the big pool. Kallie is smiling SO MUCH. She is such a happy baby. SHe talks... ALL the time! Her sounds are so precious. Her bedtime is a little late right now- it's at least 11:00, usually, when I get her to bed! She slept this morning until almost 10. Yea, that's nice and everything....but when we get back home and Kensley is starting preschool and different classes, she's going to have to be getting up early in the mornings! So hopefully she'll go to bed earlier in the evenings.
Amanda and I ran the other night and when we were finished she brought her two little ones over to play for a bit. She wanted to meet Kallie. Here are a few pictures- they are so cute! All 4 of them!

I didn't realize I had my f/stop so low. I hate miss Allie is blurry! :/
Kensley wanted to lay down like the babies

The handsome cowboy!

Notice Kallie eating Allie's leg! haha Allie is rolling EVERYWHERE!

I love this picture- we couldn't get Allie to lay there for a split second! She was wanting to roll around. Allie is 6 months and Kallie is almost 4 months. Look at how big Kallie is! haha I need to get a better one of the two of them.

Sooooo..... this morning we all got up and got ready to head to Walmart. While I was getting myself ready, the girls played on the bed for a bit. Here's what went down....
Kensley decided her babies needed to be put to sleep. And she wanted to lay beside them AND Kallie.
and, somehow Kallie tipped over so Kensley wanted to lay on the pillow with her.

Then she decided it was time to give Kallie some loving' :)

So now we're off to Walmart.......
I wanted to get Kensley a new movie and then pick up some other things. She ended up getting Toy Story (it was the ONLY Disney movie I could find!) We also picked up an Elmo potty seat that fits on top of the regular potty. Maybe we'll try to use it when she gets up from her nap. :) We finally made it home and I put Kallie in the living room (in her carrier still) while I unloaded sacks. After I was done, I walked in the living room to find this.....

I guess she was ready to take her bow off! :)
