Painting fingernails

This was all BEFORE Kallie accidentally knocked over my bottle of OPI nailpolish to the ceramic tile floor. :/ I spent a lot of time with polish remover and paper towels getting it all up. So we're down a bottle of nail polish. A cute color. RIP.

Our little gymnast

She loves her gymnastics class!

I took some of her today with my big camera.

Baby it's cool outside......well, a little cooler ;)

Well, it was actually a little crisp outside this morning. I love it! I love fall. My FAVORITE time of the year. By far.

This afternoon we decided to get the pumpkins out and paint them. The girls had a blast. Kensley did great and Kallie did..... well, she made a MESS and will be napping the next time we do anything with paint :) haha

Kensley's First Day of Preschool

This is Kensley's 2nd year of MDO. She loves it! Here are a few pictures of her. I also followed the lead of some others I saw and did a First Day of School questions.

And while Kensley is at school, Kallie and I find something to do. It's usually never the same thing! ;)

Go cats!

We went home this past weekend for Homecoming. It was Kent's 10 year reunion but he ended up not being able to go :( So we made the best out of our trip.

All decked out in their "Cats" gear.

On our way to the football field, we saw Lindsey. She kept the girls once this summer- they LOVED her! She was one of the Senior Princesses. She looked gorgeous!

The girls LOVED the football game! Kensley really wanted to talk to the black cat but we never got a chance. They did great up in the stands.

The next day we went to the park with Nana. It was a nice morning. The girls had a blast.

Then I got to go out that night with my cousin. Here are a couple pictures I managed to take with my phone. I wish I would have got some better ones! Oh well.

Me & Nicole

Me & Amanda

I was totally just messing with Kent! I love taking the infamous bathroom mirror pictures ;) I just forgot to throw my peace sign!

Ice Cream Sundaes!

We have left over ice cream stuff from Kensley's party so the girls and I decided to enjoy it one day :)

After that big snack, we watched TV! haha

And Daddy got home from work! Woohoo!

3 year check up & 18 month check up

The girls have really got to know their pediatrician the past couple weeks. I LOVE her. The girls LOVE her. I am so happy. She's very easy to talk to so I don't get nervous when she comes in. haha

Kensley got her shots first. She did great- no crying. She also got to pick a treasure out of the treasure box, get a sticker AND a lolipop! She was SO excited. She immediately forgot about the shots.

So at 3 years old:
30 lbs
38" tall

Picky eater
Loves:
Danimals Yogurt drinks
Pizza
Grilled Cheese
PB&J
Grapes
M&M's
ANYTHING sweet ;)
Chocolate milk
Fruit snacks

Tangled
Tinkerbell
Fairies
Dora
Strawberry Shortcake
Role playing

Kallie did well at the dr. too. She cried for MAYBE 5 seconds and then she was done. She was ready for her sticker, prize and lolipop.

At 18 months, she is:
26 lbs
33.5" tall

She loves:
Danimals Yogurt drink
M&M's
Grapes
Chicken
....geez, she is pickier than Kensley!

Playing with her dolls
Pushing her stroller around
Playing outside with McCoy
Climbing on things
Mommy (clings a lot still)
Pacifier (ba-ba) - I dread breaking her of that.

Here are some pictures from after the dr. office visit. (cell)

And here is a picture of the night after Kallie's shots. We got home and she took a late nap. We could NOT get her to go to sleep! Kent had to do some work so I had BOTH of them in Kensley's room. It was funny, yet not funny. Because I was ready for them to GO.TO.BED.

and yes. Kensley is wearing her Sunday dress to bed. It's how we roll.

the big 2-7

Getting closer and closer to 30. *deep breaths* It's going to happen one day.... soon. Ok, so yea, I know 30 isn't bad. Heck, almost all of our close friends have already hit 30! They're still cool, so I think we'll be ok ;)

I woke up this morning to Kallie playing with her stroller and Kensley snuggled right next to me in bed. Sometime in the middle of the night (almost EVERY night) she snuck in to sleep with mommy & daddy. Kent didn't lock Kallie's bedroom door because he didn't want to wake her up so she was able to get out by herself this morning. She usually cries at the top of the stairs but in honor of mommy's birthday, she walked down by herself and started playing. So nice of her, right?

Before we loaded up for the gym (Body Combat was today---- I LOVE that class) I got an email from Gold's giving me a free day pass. Told me to not come to the gym today. haha. I guess I'm just an over achiever, right? ;)

As I was doing my round house kicks and all that jaz, I was thinking about my own birthday dinner. I wanted to make a roast! [Just FYI - we have been eating really good in this house lately. Think egg whites, whole wheat bread & pasta, sugar free syprup, splenda, fruit, veggies, ground turkey breast.....] But tonight I wanted to splurge. :) So off to HEB we went. The girls were in good moods- I got one of those car buggies (which is just about equivalent to driving a limo, I'm sure. It's insane) The girls were giddy about riding in it.... that is, until we saw the toys. Lordy. I wanted to get some art supplies for them- so I went to get those and low and behold, dang Strawberry Shortcake was on the shelves behind us. Kensley spotted them. And it went downhill from there. She screamed and cried because she couldn't get it. Oh wait- there were also Tinkerbell & all the other fairies... that's actually what she cried about. "I WANT THE FAIRIES MOMMY! PLEEEEEEASE!" over.and.over.and.over. I wanted to crawl in a hole (after I beat the tar out of her for acting so bad) Anyways, the crying and whining went on all the way through check out. All in all, it was a disaster of a trip.... but I got my roast (and it's in the crockpot now) :)

I came home to these on the front porch. YUUUUUMY! My sweet friend Whitney, who has been cooped up in the hospital for over a week now, was so thoughtful to get these delivered! Let me tell you- they are AWESOME. I will probably become a customer of the bakery (The Sweetest Cure). Thank you Whitney!!

We had a nice dinner of roast and potatoes tonight. Yummy! The girls are now clean and tucked in bed. Kent and I are RELAXING! This weekend my parents and grandmother are coming up. I am SUPER excited to see them! Kensley can't wait either- she keeps saying she can't wait to see her Nonnie. Oh how I love being back in Texas.

Popping in

Well, things around here have been SO busy. In fact, I'm surprised I have these few minutes to pop in and check in on the blog. I have been so busy that I haven't had time to read ANY blogs! I catch up here and there, but nothing near where I'd like to be. My computer was out of service for a few days last weekend because it was loaded with tons of pictures and downloads. I'm such a dork- I just thought it was about to crash on me! Anyways, I got all that cleaned off (after our party for Kensley and all of our visitors returning home) and was able to get back on the internet for a few minutes at a time.

I'm working on a blog for her party. I'm hoping to get that posted before the end of the year ;) My friend Karissa took the pictures so I just need to get them together and ready to post.

The day our friends went home, wildfires started to flare up rather close to us. It was a bit of a scare; but everything was ok. The smoke was scary. We had a friend that was directly effected (or affected? I never really learned that in school- hah) He's stayed at our house all of last week and this past weekend. I was so glad we were here for him. Luckily his belongings in the house weren't destroyed- but the outside of the house had damage. He should be able to go back within a week or so, I'm guessing.

Kensley started school. I'll post a blog about that by itself. She LOVES it. I love it. It's twice a week and 4 hours a day. I can't wait for Kallie to attend next year! I will be in heaven ;) And hopefully booked with photo sessions!

Speaking of photography- I'm working on getting my name out. Slowly, but surely. We are just getting settled in- I don't want to rush it. I've got a few sessions in the works. And that is perfectly fine with me right now. When the time is right, my business will pick up. I'm planning a trip up to VA soon. I'll have quite a few sessions scheduled there!

Kensley started gymnastics today. She loves it! You can most certainly tell that she is a young 3 year old and it was her first class. She had a tough time following instruction- she was so overstimulated with everything around! haha- we're hoping after about a month of going, she'll get the hang of it. We have to find her a leotard before next week. They like the kiddos to be dressed in those. I'm so excited :) I really hope she loves gymnastics.

I am now following Kent's lead to eating better. I've done it for almost a week now and I can tell you- I am really enjoying it! It really wasn't about losing weight for me; it was more about making healthier choices for my body. We are planning on running in the Warrior Dash in November. Can I say how excited I am?! We have a few friends that are probably going to run it with us. It's going to be a BLAST!

I think I'm out of updates- or at least I can't think of much more right now. I'll be posting more specific blogs soon.

Oh, and one more thing- please keep my friend Whitney in your prayers. She is 30 weeks pregnant and has been admitted to the hospital for low fluid levels. Pray for God to wrap his arms around her and be with her these last few weeks of her pregnancy. She would really like miss Harper to bake a little longer before she makes her appearance! So make sure you add her to your prayer list.
