the big 2-7

Getting closer and closer to 30. *deep breaths* It's going to happen one day.... soon. Ok, so yea, I know 30 isn't bad. Heck, almost all of our close friends have already hit 30! They're still cool, so I think we'll be ok ;)

I woke up this morning to Kallie playing with her stroller and Kensley snuggled right next to me in bed. Sometime in the middle of the night (almost EVERY night) she snuck in to sleep with mommy & daddy. Kent didn't lock Kallie's bedroom door because he didn't want to wake her up so she was able to get out by herself this morning. She usually cries at the top of the stairs but in honor of mommy's birthday, she walked down by herself and started playing. So nice of her, right?

Before we loaded up for the gym (Body Combat was today---- I LOVE that class) I got an email from Gold's giving me a free day pass. Told me to not come to the gym today. haha. I guess I'm just an over achiever, right? ;)

As I was doing my round house kicks and all that jaz, I was thinking about my own birthday dinner. I wanted to make a roast! [Just FYI - we have been eating really good in this house lately. Think egg whites, whole wheat bread & pasta, sugar free syprup, splenda, fruit, veggies, ground turkey breast.....] But tonight I wanted to splurge. :) So off to HEB we went. The girls were in good moods- I got one of those car buggies (which is just about equivalent to driving a limo, I'm sure. It's insane) The girls were giddy about riding in it.... that is, until we saw the toys. Lordy. I wanted to get some art supplies for them- so I went to get those and low and behold, dang Strawberry Shortcake was on the shelves behind us. Kensley spotted them. And it went downhill from there. She screamed and cried because she couldn't get it. Oh wait- there were also Tinkerbell & all the other fairies... that's actually what she cried about. "I WANT THE FAIRIES MOMMY! PLEEEEEEASE!" over.and.over.and.over. I wanted to crawl in a hole (after I beat the tar out of her for acting so bad) Anyways, the crying and whining went on all the way through check out. All in all, it was a disaster of a trip.... but I got my roast (and it's in the crockpot now) :)

I came home to these on the front porch. YUUUUUMY! My sweet friend Whitney, who has been cooped up in the hospital for over a week now, was so thoughtful to get these delivered! Let me tell you- they are AWESOME. I will probably become a customer of the bakery (The Sweetest Cure). Thank you Whitney!!

We had a nice dinner of roast and potatoes tonight. Yummy! The girls are now clean and tucked in bed. Kent and I are RELAXING! This weekend my parents and grandmother are coming up. I am SUPER excited to see them! Kensley can't wait either- she keeps saying she can't wait to see her Nonnie. Oh how I love being back in Texas.
