Her funny sayings

Kensley is such a ham. And is listening to us talk when we don't realize it... soaking up everything... today she was on a roll.

"Mommy, you stinky! Daddy stinky, too"

When I was finished working out, I went to pick the girls up from the daycare place and Kensley was yelling "Hi momma!" over and over and over.... then she added "I'm so proud of you!" :lol: I laughed so hard.

:as she's picking up her new Strawberry Shortcake figurine: "aww, it's ok. You a big girl." :pats her on the back: "I keep your warm" :holding her in her hands really tight:

:as we walk out to the car: "hurry momma! cars are very dangerous! Let's get out of here!"

:walking out of the gym and the sun is going down: It's night night time. It's dark outside"

And the one that just melts my heart every time she says it... :hugging me tight: "I luuuub you mommy"

I'm in love with this little girl! She is just growing up too fast. :(

Black & White Wednesday

I have been a long time follower of Ashley's and it's been a while since i visited her blog. Since the last time I visited, she was grown SO MUCH! I was so excited to see what all she is doing! There are so many things to participate in- so much fun! One of the blogs she links up with is Black & White Wednesdays

I took some pictures of miss Kallie today- just playing around- and I thought I would convert this to b/w and participate in the weekly challenge.

I Heart Faces: Winter Wonderland

I just realized I linked this page instead of my photography one to the I Heart Faces site! OOps! Here's my post.

We took our kids out today in the snow and I realized this week's challenge is winter wonderland. I think this picture shows how much love this daddy has for his little girls. Look at all that snow on his jeans from pulling her around! ;)

Kallie- 10 month update

So I went back and dug around for Kensley's 10 month update. Here it is. I'm glad I did this! I don't have friends to share all of Kallie's firsts and milestones with so I feel like I've slacked on some things with her.

Kallie weighs 22 lbs and I believe she has grown up over night! She has recently learned to point and grunt at what she wants! It's so funny. She usually says "nuh!" over and over. She adores her big sister; it's really sweet. Their recent thing to do is play in the pack-n-play together. Kensley climbs in a yells for Kallie to get in.

She loves her puffs & yogurt melts. If she sees them, she'll throw a fit for them! She has developed such a fun personality within the past week. She is so much fun! And to sit and watch her and Kensley play and laugh together--- it's one of the best things in life. I just love it. :)

Here she is clapping

~~~Fast forward a week. That's how long ago I wrote the above section.~~~
Kallie really enjoyed the snow!
Kallie is yelling "dat!" over and over and over and points to where she wants you to go. 9 times out of 10, she is wanting in the cabinet that has all the food in it.
I went back through old blogs of when Kensley was 10 months and realized I had already introduced some solid foods to her! (you're probably thinking, "duh! She's almost a year old!". Well, in my mind, she's still a baby. Time has just flown by. So now she has had turkey lunch meat (she loves it!) and mandarine oranges. Those both were big hits. I've also given her super diluted apple juice. She is drinking out of a sippy cup as well.
A day in the life of miss priss
8:00 wake up & nurse
9:00 breakfast
10-12 nurse/nap
12:30 lunch
1-3ish play
3-4 nurse/nap
6:00 dinner
8:00 nurse/bedtime
Breakfast- oatmeal mixed with formula
Snack- puffs/melts/oranges
Lunch- purees/lunch meat/fruit
Dinner- same as lunch
She's not really hot on purees right now. She just doesn't seem interested. I think she'd much rather have big people food :)
She LOVES her baths! She LOVES her sister. She LOVES her daddy. But she is a mommy's girl. All.the.way. That may change soon, but for now, she will cling to me like crazy. Tiring, yes. But I am trying to enjoy it. She is so much fun. I love her to death.
Let it Snow, let it snow
Well, not that today was any different.... it snowed some.... there's about a foot on the ground. It's beautiful, but cold. We went out to the office and pulled the girls in the sled. Let me restate that, WE went out there but KENT did the pulling. It was 15 degrees and I did it one time with Kensley and my lungs just about froze from the inside out. It was ridiculous. The rest of the time I hung out in the garage and took pictures :)
Kensley had a blast! She kept saying "how 'bout more?", "go THAT way!" (away from the house), "I have fun!" She was too cute.
Kallie enjoyed it too! We had her bundled up tight. She couldn't really move. :)
See that grin?
Our two snow bunnies
McCoy LOVES it as well. He didn't miss a beat. He ran with Kent the entire time, plus some. Here he is in action.
And Kent, Kallie & I walked out to the lake. Let me say, it dropped about 20 degrees! It was INSANE! Kent didn't stay out there with Kallie, no worries :) I stayed out long enough to take a few pictures. The lake had frozen towards the shore.
I promise, Kent took her back RIGHT after I clicked this picture!
And when we got home, everyone was pooped. Especially Kensley.
Playing in the snow
We'd been here a couple days and Kensley kept wanting to play in the snow! So we went outside and attempted a snowman...... and this is what we got:
Come to find out- this is NOT the kind of snow you can make a big snowman with. It's about the consistency of powder, seriously. SOOOOO we just settled for a mound :)
She loved throwing it up in the air.
And Kallie also had potatoes for the first time. She wasn't a big fan!
Randoms
This is what I have to deal with when I turn the sink on. Really? Yes.
*look really close--- water is coming out of the neck of the faucet
And cooking on this takes me back to our first 2 years of marriage.... apartment living at its best ;)
....one chapter at a time..... one chapter at a time.....
Fix it Friday #82
This picture was already PERFECT! Mainly a white balance adjustment and ta-da! :)
This one I did a tight crop; her eyes are beautiful! I used a Lightroom Preset (Soulshine- Walk on the Beach) I tweaked the layers, but still don't 100% like it. I am still learning how to really tweak the LR presets. I need to buy Scot Kelby's book! :)
This one I pulled into LR3 and fixed the white balance by putting the eye dropper in the white of her eyes. I then exported and pulled it into PSE8. I have a preset from Coffeeshop (Butterscotch Vintage). This is one of my favorite presets :) I tweaked each layer and this is what I came up with.
Now go no over to I Heart Faces and check the other entries out!
A *new* me
Well, things have been going non stop around here. We have now moved on to the next "chapter" in our lives. I have always been one to love "new beginnings" so maybe that's why God is sending me on so many adventures? Either way, I am going to try to embrace it and make it worth my while!
I have a good friend that made it a New Years resolution of hers to start blogging more and interacting with the blogs she follows. I actually had some time today to browse the internet and thought I would try my hand at it as well! I was thinking earlier- I try to set goals but always seem to fail. :( Time just gets away from me. I am still working on building my photography portfolio but it is REALLY going to slow down for a while. This is the reason I am not ready to dabble in the business part of it. Once we have planted our seed somewhere, I will pursue it. Until then, I will continue to grow and learn and enjoy myself. I am itching to do a session out in the snow :)
Speaking of snow.... there is LOTS of it here. Lots. I attempted to get out today---- 15 degrees. Not fun with two kiddos! Kensley was saying "it's very cold mommy!". We went to Dick's and Famous Footwear in search of some snow boots for her. Unfortunately, the ones that would have been PERFECT were sold out in her size. So we opted for these: (in black) ....and I bought some waterproof spray. Hopefully they'll work! They're lined, unlike her other boots, so they should be warm and cozy.
The girls love the big window with the curtains that flop back and forth. They played over there for quite a while when we first got here. And McCoy is back! Woohoo! My built in babysitter :)
AAAAND.... the kitchen cabinets are a fun place to play!
Just throwing this out there- I got my 7D for Christmas and absolutely LOVE it! It's amazing how this baby handles a high ISO. :swoon:
I am now about to jump in the shower and then hop in bed. Good night all!
It's 2011!
***I just realized I was waiting to add pictures to this post! oops!***
We went to Austin to celebrate the new year this year. We had the girls with us, so all we did was eat at Texas Roadhouse (YUMMY BREAD.... and fried pickles!) Aside from the fact we looked for 15 minutes straight for my car keys (which were in Kent's pocket the whole time- ugh!) we had a good time.
Megan is pregnant and due March 17th- possibly a St. Patty's baby! Or he could share a birthday with Kallie! Anyways, I was able to take some belly pictures for her. You can check them out here. She still has 10ish weeks to go, so she'll do quite a bit of growing- but since we were in town now, we went ahead and took some. She is such a beautiful pregnant woman!
Here are some pictures from the night. Kensley could have rung in the new year--- in fact, I should have just let her. But at 11:30, I took her to bed.... only to not come out of the room until AFTER midnight! So I missed the big kiss with the hubby! However, we did celebrate with the East coast crew at 11pm central ;)
She's dancing!
She misses her "Coy Boy" so much! Shiner was the perfect "fill in" ;)
Just love this girl! She is due March 16th with a little boy-- I can't wait to meet him!
Thinking she's going to ring in the new year! haha
Filling her "pack pack" with tons of little toys.
