Well, you read it right.... A tooth has broke through! WOOHOO! haha- You may think I'm crazy, but I am one excited mommy! Kensley is now 12.5 months and still has NO teeth! I noticed her bottom gums were swollen where those two middle teeth will come in... well, today I noticed a little white bud had broken through. I'm anxious to see how our little one looks with teeth! It's been so long that we've seen her big, huge "gum"my smile! Fortunately, she hasn't been really cranky- just some loose bowel movements and a few mornings with a little clear runny nose, but so far, so good!
My parents are in town and so we're staying busy. It was so funny- they got here last night and Kensley went straight to Nonnie (my mom). She loves her! She has been attached to her since. It's so sweet. They're up here all week and I am so happy for that. I wish they lived up here- along with the rest of my family!
Well, Texas & Tech are playing....... back to watching some football..............

Kensley at 12 months
Happy 1st Birthday Kensley!
What a great day! We had Kensley's 1st birthday at my mom's and it turned out great. We had all of our family & friends and Kensley had a blast! She walked around and played the entire time. She got a lot of cute clothes and a few toys. Here are a few pictures from the day.
It's crazy how fast this year has flown by. At 12 months, here is a list of Kensley's likes & dislikes.
Likes
Cheese
Fruit (especially bananas & grapes)
Yogure melts
formula
saying "dada"
Reading her books
having someone read to her
playin with other kids
watching a DVD in the car (Baby Einstein)
climbing stairs
sitting on the bathroom counter with mommy while she gets ready
morning walks
Dislikes
Meats- maybe it's the texture, and the fact she has no teeth?!
Puffs- maybe because I tried to skimp and buy the off-brand kind
holding someone's hand while walking

Such a beautiful, fall day!
Well, I haven't blogged in a while- but I thought I would while Kensley is napping.
Things here in VA are going good. I would like to find a mom's group for little ones so Kensley can interact with other kids and I can interact with other adults! :) We have a neighborhood mom's email group, so I may try to coordinate one here. That way it will be more convenient to do things close to home since everyone lives near eachother.
Kensley is growing like a weed. She is walking everywhere and has mastered the art of crawling up the stairs. She thinks she's so cool when she does it. I need to get a cheap-o gate for the bottom of the stairs now!
Fall has made its appearance. I am LOVING it! The windows have been opened all day and the A/C is off. I had to put jeans and a long sleeve shirt on! My parents are coming up next week and I am really getting excited! Man, I wish they lived up here! We're going to venture into D.C. and do some sight seeing and go to the National Zoo. So, I'm counting down the days until they arrive!
As for me, things are great. This pregnancy has been just like my pregnancy with Kensley. I go to the doctor up here later this month. I hope and pray that I like the nurses & doctors. I am really having a hard time leaving my old OB/GYN. Speaking of babies- Kent's cousin Scot; he and his finace are expecting a GIRL! Yay! I am so excited!! I know it's what Scot really wanted and I am so happy for them! I can't wait to go to a store and get her an outfit.... :-)
Well, I believe that's about all that is going on in the Vest household. I'll try to upload some pictures soon... I just have to find where I (or KENSLEY) put my card reader for my camera.....

It's been almost 2 weeks....
Almost 2 weeks since we moved up to Virginia. I am enjoying it so far, but I miss my friends in DFW SOOOO much! I've taken some pictures of Kensley- she is keeping me on my toes... she's walking now, so that's fun to watch. She is so cute- has such a personality! Her 1st birthday party is going to be next weekend. We're flying home to our parent's. I am SO ready to see them! I especially want them to see how Kensley walks now... it seems like she's changed so much since we got up here.....
Here are a few new pictures...

Stay tuned for an update!
Well, we've made it up to Virginia... so far, the weather is GORGEOUS! I am really enjoying it. The one thing I am NOT enjoying is the fact the moving truck STILL isn't here! I am so frustrated with them. Our stuff should be here next week, thank goodness!! I will post pictures of the house once I get it decorated.
In the midst of everything going on with moving, we can't forget that our baby girl is about to turn ONE! AHHH! I can't believe it! She is starting to walk now. She'll take about 7-8 steps and then just sit down. She's so cute. I can't wait for her to really start walking. I'm tired of her poor knees staying red and then her eating everything in sight on the floor! We're working on planning her party at either Kent's parents or my parent's. I got her a really cute party hat - BUT it's in a box with the dang movers. I'm going to try to take pictures of her for her invitation. We live on a golf course, so there are TONS of really pretty places.... I'm ready to walk around and start snapping! :)
Well, that's about all the time I have for now.... I want to catch up on friend's blogs... I know Devin and Leven moved into their house recently, and I'm hoping she's updated her blog! ;-)

BUSY BUSY BUSY!
Well, I thought I would update my blog one last time (probably) before we head up to Virginia. I'm really anxious about seeing the house in person. The internet pictures are beautiful, but I know seeing it in person will be totally different! Kensley & I are headed up there with Kent... we're making the LONG trip! We bought her a big girl car seat today. That way she can face forward and watch TV when she gets fussy :) We're trying to think of everything to make this trip as pleasant as possible with an 11 month old. August is going to be a really busy month for us. Please keep us in your prayers as we have a LOT of changes coming.... I'll update more soon :)

It's game time!
Well, it's been a while since I blogged. Things have been crazy around here! We are in the middle of packing like crazy people. We may be sending our furniture and things up north on the 1st. Things are going so fast... it's a little sad.... and VERY stressful! One of the most stressful things Kent & I have had to deal with while married. We've moved before, but it was only across town. Moving across the US is a whole different game! Wish us luck and keep us in your prayers!

Catching up
Well, we had a great 4th of July! We spent the weekend with family and we really enjoyed it. The morning of the 4th, my mom, Kensley, Ging & I went to the park to see what was happening. Kensley loves dogs so we took her to see the pet parade. I was really disappointed at the number of people who showed up. I figured it would be a little more crowded. We only stayed up there about an hour and a half. We spent the rest of the day at Mark & Liz's. Liz's sister and husband came down and Scot & Marlo drove in. There was so much food- shrimp, steak, corn, potatoes, fruit trays, veggie trays, brownies... it was all SOO good (except the shrimp- I'm not a seafood eater!) After we ate, Kensley & I drove to my uncle's house to watch the fireworks. Kensley was on a weird nap schedule and went to sleep from about 7-8. When we got to my uncles, she looked so sleepy. Well, right before the fireworks started, she threw up EVERYWHERE! Poor thing! I'm not sure what it was- I think it was the heat. Needless to say, she didn't get to watch the fireworks this year. She'll get to see the "real deal" next year when we're living in the D.C. area. Here are some pictures from the day....
