Halloween party fun

We went to some good friends' house the weekend of Halloween. Karissa can throw some GREAT parties! She decorates great and pulled off some super cute treats! The kids had a blast and we enjoyed hanging out with friends.

Visit from Nonnie, Poppy & Ging

We love visits from family! My parents and grandmother came last weekend for my birthday :) I always enjoy my birthday love I get from them - they are always so good about making us feel special, no matter how old we are. I will admit though, the older I get, the less I really care it's my birthday- the more I care about just getting to see my mom/dad/ging/whoever. Anyways, my mom and I did some speed shopping- and by speed, I mean SPEED! We didn't have much time- but I was able to find some cute tops. We ate cake when we got home and then ended the evening at Rosa's. Yummy!

I really wish we could have done family pictures after we took my friend's last night! I think theirs turned out so good- such a beautiful family! (I'll blog them when I'm done) Here's one I had Chris snap of us. We obviously weren't dressed for pictures..... and Kent still had his sunglasses on. He was having such a fun time. :rolls eyes:

Trip to the Aquarium

Yesterday we took a trip to the Baltimore Aquarium. Holy hugeness! It took us 2 hours to walk through it- and we skimmed through the last part because the girls were ready to leave! But we had a blast and they were really good for having to walk the whole time. (No strollers allowed) It was super busy- there were TONS of people in there... and it was H-O-T. But nonetheless, I was glad we went and knocked that off our "bucket list" :)

One of the million reasons I love my camera is the ISO capabilities. :) I cranked that baby up to 5000 at times! Yes, grainy- but I was able to just add a little noisewaire to help out :)

The jelly fish were so neat! Lindsey and I liked the jellies and dolphins the best. Too bad the dolphin show was sold out!

Strong Museum

This past weekend we visited the children's museum. Kensley had a blast! We went this past summer but she's older now; I think she got a lot more out of it this time around.

Our first stop, before anything, was the fish tank. I think she'll always be mesmerized by this thing.





Next was our trip to the mini-Wegman's. What a cute idea! Each child gets their own shopping cart and can "buy" 5 items.



They have a produce section, breads, dairy, cereals, toiletries..... After you picked your 5 items (we actually got 7, I believe) you could check out.



They have mini cashier stations and the cash registers are real! How neat! The belt you put your groceries on move.

Shopping is hard work!




When you are finished, you can even print a receipt.

December Catch Up

Lots to catch up on! I just realized I haven't blogged since December 1st!

We arrived about a week and a half ago and everything went really smoothly. It was the first time to fly commercial with both girls. They did great. Kensley was a huge helper. She pushed Kallie in her stroller for most of the time. It slowed us down... a LOT.... but she was having a good time.

They were both great on the plane. Kallie slept a little bit and Kensley watched some movies I had downloaded and/or rented. When she was done, she laid down for a little bit (like, MAYBE a couple minutes) in Kent's lap. She had her own seat, so we had plenty of room. She even tee tee'd on the plane! I just knew she wouldn't go in the plane- have you ever seen those bathrooms?! But she did it :) I was so proud of her.

We landed and had to run to BAss Pro Shop and grab something and then we ate at Chick Fil A. I was ready to get back home and go to sleep! It was a long day :)


Since we've been here, we have just been adjusting. It's really taken a toll on Kensley this time around. I guess because she's getting older. She sleeps in a crib at home but my parents have a toddler bed for her. (and let me add, when we got here, my mom had it all ready for her with DORA sheets- the whole get up. It was SO cute to see Kensley get so excited. haha.... my mom knows she won't have Dora bedding at my house- so she can enjoy it here--- mean mommy, huh?) It's a nightmare trying to get her to sleep. Half the time she ends up sleeping in "mommy's big bed". I've had to lay with her until she falls to sleep---which is something I do NOT want to start. But it's the only way I can keep her in the room! Tonight was totally different than any other night.... eh..... whatever. Our lives are going to be so crazy the next couple months with traveling, who knows what will get her to sleep next month.... let's just pray it's not me laying in the bed with her. Kallie, on the other hand, sleeps fine; I expect that though. She's in a crib, so she's good to go.

So, with all that said about bedtime, that is the reason I don't have time to get on the computer much anymore! I usually get a nice break when I come here. Luckily, tonight Kensley actually went to sleep on her own. So I am trying to play catch up.

We go pick Kent up tomorrow--- yay! I can't wait to see him. It's been too long. Almost a week and a half. Not sure what we'll do, but we'll figure out something. I believe that's all I have to update on for now.

Apple Orchards & Pumpkin Carving!

Today we headed to Winchester for a fun day at the Apple Orchards. Kensley had a lot of fun- mainly playing at the playground. We finally got her to go pick some apples.... our favorite was the "Nittanny" apples. YUM! We bought a sack for $6.00 and filled it full!





I had to get a picture of me picking the apples! ;)



Kallie even got to pick some apples with daddy! And I decided I needed to get her OUT Of the stroller and take some pictures.... because everywhere we go, I have a picture of her sitting in the stroller.... like this one:

just different outfits :) So I think I was successful at getting some good shots!

Kensley saw the "train" when we first came in and so she kept talking about it. We let her ride it--- she didn't really know what to think. She was ok at first......






Then here she is when they came back. I guess she was scared because she couldn't see me or Kent. Poor thing!




After her train ride, she got her arm painted. I asked if she wanted her face or arm and she chose arm this time. :) She got a butterfly that matched her outfit.




This was the play ground. She enjoyed driving the tractor.





So fun was had by all at the Apple Orchards!




On our way home, Kent said he wanted to get a pumpkin to carve with Kensley. We passed a great little place so I jumped out to grab us a couple. If you guessed the weight of the pumpkin within 1/4 lb, then you got it free.... well..... I guessed 11 lbs and it was 11.02lbs! WOOHOO! My lucky day! So Kensley got a big pumpkin and Kallie got a small one. We got home and Kensley mainly watched as daddy started cutting the pumpkin open.

I decided to bake the seeds. I remember doing it in school when I was in third grade- and that's probably the last time I did it! It's been a while.....
