Apple Orchards & Pumpkin Carving!

Today we headed to Winchester for a fun day at the Apple Orchards. Kensley had a lot of fun- mainly playing at the playground. We finally got her to go pick some apples.... our favorite was the "Nittanny" apples. YUM! We bought a sack for $6.00 and filled it full!

I had to get a picture of me picking the apples! ;)

Kallie even got to pick some apples with daddy! And I decided I needed to get her OUT Of the stroller and take some pictures.... because everywhere we go, I have a picture of her sitting in the stroller.... like this one:

just different outfits :) So I think I was successful at getting some good shots!

She loved the apples!

Kensley had to sit down next to her sister

They are so sweet!

Daddy looks like he's having a blast, huh? ;)

Kensley saw the "train" when we first came in and so she kept talking about it. We let her ride it--- she didn't really know what to think. She was ok at first......

Then here she is when they came back. I guess she was scared because she couldn't see me or Kent. Poor thing!

After her train ride, she got her arm painted. I asked if she wanted her face or arm and she chose arm this time. :) She got a butterfly that matched her outfit.

This was the play ground. She enjoyed driving the tractor.

So fun was had by all at the Apple Orchards!

On our way home, Kent said he wanted to get a pumpkin to carve with Kensley. We passed a great little place so I jumped out to grab us a couple. If you guessed the weight of the pumpkin within 1/4 lb, then you got it free.... well..... I guessed 11 lbs and it was 11.02lbs! WOOHOO! My lucky day! So Kensley got a big pumpkin and Kallie got a small one. We got home and Kensley mainly watched as daddy started cutting the pumpkin open.

She's in the back saying "oooohhhhhhh"

She's finally touching a seed.

I decided to bake the seeds. I remember doing it in school when I was in third grade- and that's probably the last time I did it! It's been a while.....

And here is a picture of the "master carver" in action

And it's done!

Weekend fun!

Well, this weekend has been fun so far-- and I'm going to count yesterday (Friday) a part of this weekend. Yesterday was really busy for us. Lots going on :)

First, Kensley's trial dance class at Tiny Toes. So much fun!

After she got her stamp, she followed Ms. Helen around wanting more!

Kallie's Dr. Visit

I am now having to MAKE Kallie's food! The dr said the extra acid added to the fruits may be what she is sensitive too. Also, she had a little yeast infection as well- she said it was normal with all the moisture she's been having with the diaper rashes. SO, I have been putting the antifungal cream on here a couple times a day now and she is SOOOOO much better. I think that yeast was what was making it so bad. I looked at the veggies that I already had bought (jarred foods) and there's no extra Citric or Ascorbic acid- so I'm hoping I will be able to take those jar foods with me when we're out and about. I'm going to try more veggies first and then eventually we'll add in fruits again. Wish us luck! :)

Nature hunt at the park
We had a nauture hunt play date at the park on Friday. It was a lot of fun! I wish we could have stayed longer, but we had to pick Kent up from the airport- which was actually even better! :) Kensley is still a little young to really "get" what was going on. She had a lot of fun following the bigger kids around. Luckily our next door neighbors were there too. She loves them! Lena's little sister is Kensley's FAVORITE! She knows how to say her name (Julianna) so when she sees her, she repeats her name over and over and over.... no joke. :)

Such a great idea- everyone brought something that could be put into their "trail mix" bag. There were marshmallows, candy corn, pop corn, raisins, m&m's, pretzels..... it was a hit!

Saturday morning- family photo shoot  (I'll blog about it on another blog.... which, by the way, I will be revealing SOON!) ;)

AND tomorrow we're going to go to an apple orchard. People have raved about it, so we're going to try it out. I'm excited :) (fun AND photo ops!!)

Another one? Am I crazy?

Ok- so I took family portraits for a family this morning and 1 of 2 things. 1) They didn't come out tack sharp. I'm pretty bummed. BUT the family is BEAUTIFUL... and I'm not exaggerating...  2) They had two girls (2&3....19 months apart! and then a little boy who is 6 weeks.) ::swoon:: I am now thinking that we aren't done. I mean, am I crazy? I really think I want another one! Let's try for a boy, right?! Well, I talked to Kent about it- his first reaction was "ARE YOU CRAZY?!" haha but we'll see how our live pans out within the next few months.... then maybe we can talk more about it? :) I just feel like we need one more to be a complete family....................................

Playtime!

I realized I hadn't taken many pictures of the girls lately- mainly because I only have one SD Card for my camera and it's been in my computer because I've been editing! I got my other card in the mail today, so hopefully we won't have these problems anymore!

Kallie is really trying to crawl- it's crazy! She'll be 7 months in 9 days. She inch worms everywhere now :)

Diaper rashes

Poor Kallie. She has had a HORRIBLE diaper rash lately that comes and goes. I have been trying to give her food but then she breaks out so I stop giving that particular food to her and then it seems to get better. When I start another food, it will break out a day or so later. UGH. I don't know what to do! This child is almost 7 months old and STILL hasn't had anything other than peas, sweet potatoes and apples, pears & bananas. I've actually cut out everything but the peas again. I'm thinking it's just a coincidence? I'll start putting more food back in her diet slowly and if the rashes persist, to the dr. we will go! Whitney had a lot of problems with Hailey when she was about this age so she told me a few things to do and get. I have been doing cloth a little and then got the Huggies natural diapers yesterday while at Target (which only reminds me of my decision to stick to Pampers- she pee'd out of the diaper last night!) Anyways, I also bought some of the extra strength Destin- it has really helped!

This morning she looked a lot better. Diaper rashes are horrible!

And an update on Kallie- she is ALMOST crawling! She does a scoot and gets around really well. I'll video and post it soon. She is so cute and SO much fun!

Family Fun Day

While we sit on the bed and watch cartoons, I figured I could catch up on my blog. We have been pretty busy and I have caught a cold. Ugh. I feel like a train ran over me and I just need to sleep! BUT as a mommy of two precious girls that feel good as gold and a daddy that is working & traveling, I am the only one that is running this house hold this week! Suck it up Kristen! ;) Anyways, this past weekend we went to our Family Fun Day that our neighborhood hosts every year. While it was overcast and windy (pretty chilly) Kensley had a blast! She ran around, played on the playground and made sand castles at the sand volleyball courts. AND- to my dismay- I forgot my camera card! AHH! I was so bummed. Almost so bummed that it made my day a little.... ugh..... Kent said I was crazy. Here's my thing- we don't get to do family things very often with Kent traveling so much. So when we finally do something, you bet I want my camera attached to my side! SOOOO I have ordered another memory card so things like that won't happen again :) While I didn't have my camera, I did have the trust iPhone. Kensley got her face painted for the first time ever! She wanted "punkins on my face". So "punkins" it was!

I know Kent was cringing the whole time she was in the sand. He kept saying things like "she's getting it in her hair", "she's got it all in her shoes". haha (and trust me, it was pretty cool outside- don't mind the little girl with spaghetti straps on in the back! What were her parents thinking!?)

The girls were pooped when we left. They both took a good nap right when we got in!

Getting ready for Halloween!

I finally got to Wal Mart and picked up some puff paint to make the eyes for Kensley's ghost outfit. Shayna at Texas Monkey Boutique, made the girls some ADORABLE tutus! I wish I had the time to make tutus now, but I just don't. Luckily she has GREAT prices and is great at what she does! I can't wait to show you guys both costumes! I just need that paint to dry and then we'll be good to go :)

I printed ghost eyes & a mouth off of the internet, cut them out and traced over them with a black sharpie. So far so good :)

Here is the finished product. I was SO bummed. Kensley wanted to sit up there with me, so I let her. She was playing with the other bottle of paint and accidentally dropped it on the right (our right) eye!!! AHHH! So there's a little bubble on one side. I really wanted to try to cover it up but was afraid to go any further- it probably would have gotten really bad! haha Oh well. I'll have to get over it. :(

Here's my "helper". I guess I'll say she put a little personal touch to her t-shirt. :)

Stay tuned! Halloween pictures will be coming soon!

Pizza Party!!

Whew! What a great evening :) I'm pooped, though! I had 5 big girls and 3 babies and 4 mommies in my house this evening- good thing Kent wasn't home! I decided to have my neighbors over for dinner since we hadn't gotten together in a while; it was much over due- however, we may have to make it SANS kiddos next time! We didn't get to catch up as much as I would have liked to :) All of the girls had fun running around playing. It has been so fun to live so close to so many girls. Kensley loves all of them and has a blast playing.

I picked up some pizza ingredients and had everything laid out for the girls.

They all did a great job :)

Kensley had to taste her sauce ;)

Chowing down!

And here was Kensley's pizza. I gave her a handful of pepperoni's and when I looked at her pizza, this is what she had done with them. I guess she ate most of them ;)

So that was our evening. We had a blast and hope to get to do it again soon!

Good website

I spend most of my time on the internet on photography forums.... things like that. I came across this site through someone on Facebook. I love Dr. Dobson and probably knew about this site, but just haven't been on it. It's got some great info.
