Fever Fever Fever!

Well, miss Kensley still has her fever. The pediatrician put her on Amoxicillin on Wednesday and Saturday night & all day today she has had fever. It got up to 101.8 last night before bed. She is such a good baby though. She hasn't been fussy or anything. I just know how I feel when I have fever and it makes me feel bad for her! Her nose is still pretty congested. She's still eating pretty good- but I can tell it's harder for her because she has to take breaks and she sounds out of breath sometimes too. I'm calling in the morning to see if we can get in tomorrow to see the doctor. Keep her in your prayers!

Aside from our baby girl being sick, my mom came up here this weekend. I always love it when she comes up here. We usually are on the go, but it was a little different with a sick one in the house. Saturday, Kensley slept a lot. We had to go get my wedding ring from Zales, so we waited until she got up from her 3 hour afternoon nap! Of course we had to stop by Carters- I just LOVE their clothes! Great quality, cute as can be and very affordable! We ate at the food court and then headed home. We were going to go to church this morning- I was really excited because I wanted my mom to visit the church we've been going to. But we opted to stay in- Kensley didn't need to be out. So instead, I ran by the Speedway to check out the Trade Days USA. It's something new they've started. Me, Whitney & Holly are going to try to get a booth going next month and see if we have any luck. Hopefully we will!

Well, here's a couple pictures from the last day or two.......

I think she looks JUST like Kent when we was little in this picture!

Ear infection....

That's it... that's what Kensley has... poor baby. She's had this cough for three weeks now. My friend Holly told me to try to keep her out of the dr. office unless she is running fever. I called her yesterday and she said since it's gone on for 3 weeks, they usually tell their patients to make an appointment. So I did. And it was just in time! The doctor had to clean out her ears because there was so much ear wax in them. She's just a waxy girl! :) She cried when he did that more than she does when she gets her shots! Once he was able to see in her ear, he said there was a slight ear infection. It's from all the crud in her nose. He said we caught it just in time- if we would have come last week he would have just sent us home. He thinks the infection has been there for maybe 24 hours..... we went to Walgreen's & got her perscription filled... amoxicillin. She likes it! :) My mom said when I was a baby they would have to try to hide it from me because I would sneak in the kitchen and get some out of the fridge. haha (I had tubes put in my ears by 9 months old... I was sick all the time!)

Anyways, hopefully this will help things out and end this nasty cough and congestion!

Spaghetti Night

Well, today really turned out beautiful! However, Kensley & I didn't get out really. We made a trip to Wal Mart to get some groceries, but that's about it. She's had a horrible cough and it just won't go away. I called the dr's office and got her in for an appointment tomorrow. She hasn't been running fever or anything- and I've tried to stay out of the office because I know how much stuff is going around right now. I am just getting worried that it's not going away and not getting any better.

I found out today that a college friend is making a road trip in March and I get to see her and her new baby girl! I haven't seen her since my FRESHMAN year in college and I'm really excited. We keep in touch via Myspace so I feel like we see eachother everyday and I feel like I know her little girl! I am hoping to get to take some pictures of her little one to practice shooting more babies.

I also had a friend ask me to make a couple bows for her little girl. I am really excited. I have been making Kensley's bows for a while and am wanting to start selling them. I still feel like I need a little more practice- so maybe I can just make a lot of bows for friends at the cost of the ribbon used and then start making some money on it. I am also hoping to start taking pictures for friends free of charge (or VERY little charge) and eventually one day be able to charge for my photography work as well. You see I have tons of plans? My mind goes 90 miles an hour everyday thinking of things I could do to "make money". I know it won't make me rich- but I love being crafty and doing things for others... so right now, I think I'm on the right track!

Would you like me to take pictures of you and your family? Let me know!!

Virus? Flu?

Wow the last 36 hours has been miserable! I guess it was a virus I caught. I started feeling bad on Saturday night. I was up all night going to the bathroom & throwing up. My dad had to go to Wal Mart at 2:30 in the morning to get me some gatorade! And I will say this- Gatorade is a LIFESAVER! I was able to keep that down and sleep the rest of the night/morning. Kensley did really good sleeping- thank God! It killed me because I didn't want her to get the virus so I tried to stay away from her (except when she ate). Kent ended up going home last night and I think I'll go back tomorrow. I feel 100% better now, so hopefully that's the end of it!

This morning miss Kensley & I had a mini photo shoot :)

Here is a picture from our trip to see the cows. Kensley did great! She didn't stay out too long because it was pretty cold.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Here is miss Kensley at our Valentine's Party yesterday. Her little dress and leggings turned out so cute! We had a lot of fun! We ended up having 8 mommies come. It was funny because all of the babies were within a month of eachother, with the exception of a 2 week old. Here are a few more pictures of the babies playing.

We are now in Mexia about to go see the cows. I'm interested to see how Kensley will act. She may not care- but we'll see! I'll have the camera out there, of course! Kent, his dad and Keith are out there working on fence.

It's been a good week!

Well, these last few days have been really busy for Kensley & I. Liz (Nana) came up and stayed a couple days with us. It's always nice to have someone come up because I get a lot of help with Kensley. Liz gave Kensley her baths, fed her cereal and played with her. They had a blast together! She got here Tuesday and we ate at Jason's Deli and then went into a few stores that are going up around the house. We went into JC Penney and came out with quite a few outfits for Miss Kensley! Then yesterday we went over to Grapevine. I had to get my car fixed so she followed me over there. We headed to Sam Moon first. I LOVE that store! I SOOO wanted a purse but had a hard time justifying me buying one when I carry a diaper bag around right now! I got some really cute jewelry though- so it was a good trip! We then headed to the Grapevine Mills mall. Lindsey met us there and shopped with us all day. We had a great time. All three of us got our eyebrows threaded. Now let me say this- I have passed that booth in the mall hundreds of times and every time I go by, those ladies sitting in the chair don't look like they're in pain at all. Well, I will admit, it hurt like a son of a gun!!! I had been growing my eyebrows out so they could shape them.... and they look great now... but it was very painful! We all had a few good laughs at eachother... Even though the first time is painful, I recommend this over waxing any day!! I didn't take any pictures of our outings- (only on my phone).... but I'll be posting pictures soon! Tomorrow is our Valentine's Party for the little ones... I can't wait! It's going to be a lot of fun.

What a great Sunday!

Well, we have had a wonderful Sunday! This morning we got up and went to church. I really like this church we are attending now. The pastor is wonderful and it just feels right. Kensley went to the nursery and slept the whole time- she was a good girl! :) Lindsey met us at church and then came over. Kent went to play golf so me, Kensley and Lindsey went shopping. It wasn't very pretty outside- really windy and cloudy all day. Kensley did really well= slept a lot. If anyone knows me well, they know that I take pictures.... a lot! So any time Kent is dressed nice, I always have to get pictures! So I took advantage of a photo-op this morning... I think the pictures turned out really well....

Here's a couple more from today.

Trying to figure out her new bottle. Hanging out with Aunt Lilly!

What to do on a beautiful day like this...

Well, so far we have just been lazy today.... Kent is currently getting his hair cut and working out. So Kensley and I are at the house just hanging out. I've been cleaning but am taking a break. Whitney & Holly are coming over on Monday so we can try to whip up some bows & tutus. Hopefully we can get some really cute outfits made and then sell them at Trade Days. Last night we went and ate at Christina's with Megan & Christian. I am so ready for them to have a baby! They are such a cute couple and have been great friends to us. I just had a little photoshoot with miss Kensley... here are a few pictures... she needed a nap and was trying to poop while I had her outside, so we just quit. I'm going to try to get some better ones later today.

What a beautiful day!

Today has been so pretty! Kensley & I got up this morning and rode with Holly & Maddox to a new mom's group with the Gateway Church. I have been wanting to be a part of a Christian based group for a long time. It's hard for us to make church on the weekends- we may be traveling or Kent really doesn't want to have to get up on Sunday mornings... so I'm hoping this will fill that longing I've had for a while now. Gateway has services on Saturday- so we may try to make some of those... I'm really excited about it. Anyways, the group was great. We met a lot of other moms and we were able to invite them to join us for our Valentine's Party next week. Which I'm SO excited about! Whitney is having it at her house- she's such a great hostess! We've got a lot to do... and I'm excited to bake the cake balls... they are fantastic!

My MIL is coming to town next week so I have a lot planned for us. It's no fun to stay locked up in the house! We are going to go shopping- I have to get my car fixed, so we'll take it in and shop while they're working on it. Then I need to get my car washed- and get my hair cut... I am also counting on my workout partner to workout with me in the mornings all next week! :) It makes me feel so much better when I get up and work out. Since Liz will be here, she can keep Kensley at the house while I'm gone.

Here's a picture from today- miss Kensley took a SHORT, and I mean SHORT nap in her swing. She hasn't had a really good nap all day because we were on the go all morning. Oh well- hopefully she will be out sooner tonight!

It's been a few days....

Wow! I just realized it's almost been a week since I've updated my blog!
Last week Kensley went to the Dr. for her 5 month appointment. She weighs almost 15 lbs and is 26.5 inches long! She got her 2nd round of shots and did great. She slept a LOT that evening and into the next day. It was nice! :) Here she is at 5 months!

On Monday we went to Holly & Maddox's to make Valentine invitations for the little party. While we were there, it continued to rain and freeze! Luckily Lance got mine and Whitney's car windows de-iced and we creeped back home! Here are a couple pictures of the little ones.

This past weekend we made a trip to our parent's. I had a lot of plans, however Kent talked me into making the trip. He had to go because he and his dad were meeting a guy to buy cattle from. So we are now proud owners of a cows! I am pretty excited. I would love to one day live on some land with cows. I am currently making a list of things I want in my house one day. :) Anyways, it was a beautiful weekend! I am so ready for the spring weather so I can take Kensley out more often. Here we are at my mom's house. It was so pretty, we took her swing outside and I fed her cereal out there.

We had plans to go to some friends' house up here but we ended up staying in Mexia and watching it with my cousin and some friends. Kent didn't get back until late- so we would have been in the car for most of the game. I'm really not into football, so I didn't really care who won! :)

So far this week has been really good. We've been to the gym with Whitney & Hailey everyday- it's so nice to be back working out! My knee has been killing me- every since we went skiing, it's been hurting. I probably need to go to the doctor, but I really don't want to. So I'm just riding the bike at the gym for my lower body and then I've lifted weights for my upper body. It's better than nothing! We went early this morning because Whitney had to go to an interview with her husband.

Kensley has been doing really well- she's still sleeping in her crib at night. I am so happy about that. It still melts my heart everytime she gets up from a nap. She smiles to big and is so happy! I can't believe the end of this month she'll be 6 months! Time really does fly by! She has now been eating cereal (or oatmeal) with apples, bananas or prunes. We tried pears one night and that night was HORRIBLE! It probably had nothing to do with the pears, but I'm scared to try them again! haha I also found her a sippie cup that she likes. She doesn't get much out of it right now- but I'm just wanting her to get the hang of using it. She knows how to use it and that's what I want her to work on now. She'll learn how to get the juice out soon enough. It's hard for Kent and I to get it out! But I think it's because we have teeth :)

Right before her bath- Kent has always wanted a take a picture like this....I think we waited a little too long! haha She wouldn't stay still!

Next Friday- the 13th- we are having a Valentine's Party... Kensley, Hailey Grace & Maddox are throwing it for their friends :-) We're going to have it at Whitney & Hailey's house. I'm pretty excited about it. It's always fun to get together with a bunch of other kiddos. Speaking of a bunch of kiddos- the church Kent and I are visiting had a brochure of small groups. I found one for moms with new babies. Holly & I are going to try it out. I am really excited about it. I'm not sure if it is a devotional group or if it's just a mom's group. Either way, it'll be something to get involved in! *Maybe Whitney will come too if it fits in her schedule!* :)
