What to do on a beautiful day like this...
Well, so far we have just been lazy today.... Kent is currently getting his hair cut and working out. So Kensley and I are at the house just hanging out. I've been cleaning but am taking a break. Whitney & Holly are coming over on Monday so we can try to whip up some bows & tutus. Hopefully we can get some really cute outfits made and then sell them at Trade Days. Last night we went and ate at Christina's with Megan & Christian. I am so ready for them to have a baby! They are such a cute couple and have been great friends to us. I just had a little photoshoot with miss Kensley... here are a few pictures... she needed a nap and was trying to poop while I had her outside, so we just quit. I'm going to try to get some better ones later today.

What a beautiful day!
My MIL is coming to town next week so I have a lot planned for us. It's no fun to stay locked up in the house! We are going to go shopping- I have to get my car fixed, so we'll take it in and shop while they're working on it. Then I need to get my car washed- and get my hair cut... I am also counting on my workout partner to workout with me in the mornings all next week! :) It makes me feel so much better when I get up and work out. Since Liz will be here, she can keep Kensley at the house while I'm gone.
Here's a picture from today- miss Kensley took a SHORT, and I mean SHORT nap in her swing. She hasn't had a really good nap all day because we were on the go all morning. Oh well- hopefully she will be out sooner tonight!

It's been a few days....
This past weekend we made a trip to our parent's. I had a lot of plans, however Kent talked me into making the trip. He had to go because he and his dad were meeting a guy to buy cattle from. So we are now proud owners of a cows! I am pretty excited. I would love to one day live on some land with cows. I am currently making a list of things I want in my house one day. :) Anyways, it was a beautiful weekend! I am so ready for the spring weather so I can take Kensley out more often. Here we are at my mom's house. It was so pretty, we took her swing outside and I fed her cereal out there.
We had plans to go to some friends' house up here but we ended up staying in Mexia and watching it with my cousin and some friends. Kent didn't get back until late- so we would have been in the car for most of the game. I'm really not into football, so I didn't really care who won! :)
So far this week has been really good. We've been to the gym with Whitney & Hailey everyday- it's so nice to be back working out! My knee has been killing me- every since we went skiing, it's been hurting. I probably need to go to the doctor, but I really don't want to. So I'm just riding the bike at the gym for my lower body and then I've lifted weights for my upper body. It's better than nothing! We went early this morning because Whitney had to go to an interview with her husband.
Kensley has been doing really well- she's still sleeping in her crib at night. I am so happy about that. It still melts my heart everytime she gets up from a nap. She smiles to big and is so happy! I can't believe the end of this month she'll be 6 months! Time really does fly by! She has now been eating cereal (or oatmeal) with apples, bananas or prunes. We tried pears one night and that night was HORRIBLE! It probably had nothing to do with the pears, but I'm scared to try them again! haha I also found her a sippie cup that she likes. She doesn't get much out of it right now- but I'm just wanting her to get the hang of using it. She knows how to use it and that's what I want her to work on now. She'll learn how to get the juice out soon enough. It's hard for Kent and I to get it out! But I think it's because we have teeth :)
Right before her bath- Kent has always wanted a take a picture like this....I think we waited a little too long! haha She wouldn't stay still!
Next Friday- the 13th- we are having a Valentine's Party... Kensley, Hailey Grace & Maddox are throwing it for their friends :-) We're going to have it at Whitney & Hailey's house. I'm pretty excited about it. It's always fun to get together with a bunch of other kiddos. Speaking of a bunch of kiddos- the church Kent and I are visiting had a brochure of small groups. I found one for moms with new babies. Holly & I are going to try it out. I am really excited about it. I'm not sure if it is a devotional group or if it's just a mom's group. Either way, it'll be something to get involved in! *Maybe Whitney will come too if it fits in her schedule!* :)

Icestorms are no good!
Yesterday we went to Holly's and hung out with Holly & Maddox and Whitney & Hailey. They are all so cute together. It's fun to watch them play. Kensley is still the laid back one- she just watches everyone around her. I was a little worried, but I think it's just her demeanor. When Whitney & I were ready to leave, we walked out to our cars and they were covered in ice- Lance had to help us out by scraping our windows so we could see. We both got home safe & sound!
This morning was Kensley's dr. appointment for her second set of shots. It was at 9AM but there was no way I could get in my car. The doors were frozen shut and I was scared to get on the roads. It was like a ghost town in our neighborhood. We ended up leaving around 9:30. It took us almost an hour to get there! We didn't drive above 25mph the whole way. I was very nervous!
Miss Kensley is growing like a weed- she is 15lbs & 26.5 inches long. Everything looked great and he said to continue giving her rice cereal (or oatmeal) with a fruit. We've done apples, bananas and prunes. She loves the prunes- crazy thing! Once she hits 6 months, we're good to go on almost anything. We just have to blend it up. So that'll be interesting. I just can't believe that she's already eating foods! Time flies by so fast. We're still breastfeeding- and I try to give her cereal once or twice a day.
Here's a couple pictures from the day.
All three playing. Kensley just laid in this and relaxed. :)
Feeling eachother out...... Maddox liked her bow
Here's a video from last night- she was in a great mood!

Here's to another night....
Kensley & I went over to Whitney's today to play with Hailey and take pictures. (Whitney mentioned starting a blog- so I think I'm going to do that!) We wanted to take some cute Valentine's pictures for possible cards. It is so much fun to get together with them- I can't wait until they start interacting together.
I have a new job- or so I call it. Kent and his dad are wanting to purchase some cattle for some land we own and so I told Kent I wanted to help out in some way. So I am to do all the research on the basics of raising cattle. I'm pretty excited about it!

What a weekend!
My mom came up here to help out today while Kent is at work. Last night Kensley was such a big girl! She slept in her crib! I was so excited! Hopefully we can do that two nights in a row!

September 2, 2008
Kensley came into the world on August 26th at 4:10pm. We went to the hospital at 5:30am, got checked in and they started my pitocin at 6:30. The Dr. came and broke my water at 9:00 and I had my epidural by 9:30. The rest of the day went by really fast. Our nurse was amazing! By 3:45, I was ready to start pushing. I did a few "warm up" pushes and the nurse had to call the dr. It took him about 15-20 minutes to get up to the room- which was a little scary because Miss Kensley was ready to come out before then! As he walked in, she was sliding out- the nurse had to stop her while the dr. put his scrubs on and got everything ready. So at 4:10, she was born- she was so beautiful and pink. Kent and my mom took pictures of her and then Kent and I got to spend a few minutes with her alone.
We spent two nights in the hospital. We sent Kensley to the nursery at night so we could get some rest. Kent stayed the first night with me- it was a little rough because I was still hooked up to the IV and that made noise all night. The second night my mom stayed so Kent could go home and get a good night's sleep. I slept a lot better that night. No IV's hooked up to me so it was a lot easier to get up and down (and less noisy). We ended up leaving the hospital at about 11:30. The rest of the day at home was nice and peaceful.
Today, Kensley is a week old. She is such a great baby. She doesn't cry a lot- I try to get her fed when she's making noises or is "rooting". She screams at the top of her lungs when we give her baths. Kent and I gave her one the other night and she didn't like it at all. Kent doesn't like it when she cries, so he lets me do that part- and then he gets the towel and just saves the day! He bundles her up in that and she stops crying. Usually every night before we go to bed, she lays on Kent for a while. That's their bonding time :) We've had so much company, it's been pretty crazy. My mom is up here this week to help out, which is nice, but we have such a small house that it's been stressing Kent and I out a little. We like to have everything picked up and out of the way- and it's just hard to have it like that when people are over here all the time. But we'll survive! :-)
So all in all, this baby has been such a blessing to us. Kent and I have become so much closer- and in such a different way. It's amazing and I love it. Kensley has really filled that special place in our hearts.
