Quick trip to see friends

We made a quick trip to DFW early last week to visit friends. We're going to have a busy summer so we wanted to make it up there in case we don't get to later. Whitney moved into a new house so we wanted to go see that- we'd stayed at their cozy little apartment the last couple times we were up there- so I was excited to see their new house! On our way up there, we had to make a pitstop at DQ. I LOOOVE their ice cream and just noticed a new one that was built on our way up.
After that break and then another one about 100 yards down the road (Kallie thought she needed to go again- with a potty training kid, you don't mess around! Or there will be pee in the car seat in a heartbeat) we were on the road. I forgot how bad traffic is in Ft. Worth. I mean, it's even worse since we left. That, I don't miss. While there, I was able to drive around our old stomping grounds. I admit, my heart swelled and I had this feeling.... so weird.... just something about it felt like home. I missed it. A lot. All my friends. All of the stores. I don't know- just our old life. But then I look at where we are now- we've come a long way. We've got two kids.... experienced the Northeast.... live in a bigger home.... drive different cars.... God is good. And I was able to soak it all in while riding around. I stopped by my neighbor's house. It was so nice to get to talk to her- I only had about 30 minutes. We could've talked for hours. I miss her and all of her crazy stories. She was a great neighbor.
Anyways-- we got to Whitney's and the girls were itching to get out. Kensley was so ready to see Hailey's "new house". *Some of these are edited...some are not*

We also went to the pool in Roanoke- like my old home! The girls had a BLAST. We got to stay until a little storm blew in. BUMMER. Kensley was starting to go under water and she was really trying to swim. Kallie even started putting her head under. I guess that means I need to keep taking them regularly this summer!

We got up early and headed out on Wednesday to go to Holly's house. I always love catching up with her. We could've used about 32 more hours to sit and talk. The kids played really well with eachother. She watches her niece a couple days a week so Kensley was happy there was a girl there. haha Although I know she would've been find if it were just Maddox & Beckham. ;)

First of all- Holly had no idea how my girls react to paint. When you get paint out with them, they think it's body paint. Literally. In hindsight, I see I need to be stricter and get on their butts for doing this. But eh- oh well. Next time she won't bring out paint, I'm sure ;) But if she does, my girls are getting a talkin' to before they touch it!

All in all, we had a great trip to DFW. Thank you guys for having us! Our house is always open :)
We came home and got ready for our weekend guests........
