Fun times with the Erwin Family

I am WAY behind in posting things! Holly & Lance have been gone a while and I still haven't posted these pictures! haha Anyways, we had a blast with them and wish we still lived close. Maddox & Kensley had a blast.

We ventured over to Mt. Vernon to visit the home of George Washington. It was pretty neat!

Day 1: P90X

Ok- I am NOT going to post my before/after shots on here. Sorry guys! haha

My plan was to get up this morning at 6am and do the first CD. When the girls woke up, I was going to get Kensley her milk & feed Kallie and then go on a walk/run with my next door neighbor. WELL- that didn't happen. First of all, the Cowboys played last night (horribly, may I add) so Kent and I didn't get to bed until late (and I usually try to get in bed by 10) THEN Kallie woke up around 4:30 whining. I usually have to just go in there and put her pacifier in her mouth and then shel'l go back to sleep. Well, I couldn't find the darn thing! I was feeling all over her crib like a blind woman (I am nearly blind anyways!) I didn't have my glasses on so I couldn't see anything (and her nightlight went out yesterday, so it was almost pitch dark in there). SO, by now, she is awake & talking to me. So I picked her up, walked down stairs (where I know a pacifier is) and get it. I had to end up nursing her back to sleep. Ugh. So by the time I get back to bed at almost 5:00, I had already woke up and it took me a bit to fall back to sleep. SOOO- my routine was a little off today. I waited until the girls went down for their naps before I put in the DVD.

It wasn't too hard. Chest/Back was today. I wasn't really sweating at the end (I didn't push myself really hard either---- heck, it's only DAY 1 of this thing!) but my arms were pretty jello-like. :) I'll go on my walk this evening and then try to get on my planned schedule tomorrow morning.

Whew! Maybe I'll get the nerve to post some before/after........

Apples anyone?

Well, yesterday we loaded up the kids and headed to an Apple Orchard. We had planned to set up a picnic and have lunch, so we had everything packed. WELL- that didn't pan out, but it was ok :) We had a late breakfast, so everyone stayed pretty happy.

So we get to the place and I got out to see what the procedure was. None of us had ever been to an orchard before- the lady was pretty "matter of fact" and quite frankly, RUDE. After we left, we decided they probably didn't like "our" kind of people. They had signs everywhere about pollution and government crap. I'm not sure exactly what all was up there- but I know that my Tahoe probably doesn't top their list of favorite "green" cars. She came out and was inspecting my license plate because she was trying to see where we were from. It was a little awkward. She didn't have very good people skills. Anyways, aside from all of that, we had a good time. Maddox & Kensley enjoyed running around picking up apples and whaling them across the grass. haha Here are a few pictures.

I got these off of Holly's camera:

In the words of Holly "P.S." that was eyeshadow under her right eye. I couldn't get it off after she painted her face before we left :)

Sorry guys! Kensley would like to become a part of your family too :)

The Erwins
Lance, Holly, Maddox & Baby E ;-)

Funny- Holly & I both love this picture. Unfortunately, it's not her child. haha However, Kensley has been calling her "Momma".

And my favorite picture from the day......... ::drumroll:: ;-)

So there you have it- a morning at the Apple Orchard. I think we left there with $3 worth of apples :)

Our day with Maddox

Well, it's 10:27pm- Wednesday evening. Kensley & Kallie went down around 8:30-8:45... and Maddox is still awake, hanging out with me :)

I took pictures throughout the day of the kiddos. They had so much fun (including Kallie!) Lance and Holly made it in yesterday and we have been enjoying their company. (Oh how I wish we all still lived close) They went into DC today while Maddox stayed here with us and played. We had a blast! Kensley loved running around playing with her new buddy.

Lance & Holly headed out around 10, I believe. They had an audience as they left.

Kensley & Maddox then decided they would chase each other around. The little things that keep 2 year olds entertained. :)

They would run into the kitchen- stay for a minute- and then they'd run towards the stairs. This was what was on the stairs.

And here they are- eating the snacks and drinking their juice.

Here, they finally took a break and really chowed down on pretzels & gold fish.

While all of this was going on, Kallie was sleeping. Well, Kensley heard Kallie wake up on the monitor and ran up to her room. She'll tell you "KALLIE WAKE UP!" She gets so excited. So, of course, Maddox had to see what all the hype was. Kallie woke up to two little cuties in her face :)

Everyone went back downstairs to play for a while. Kallie got a lot of attention at first :)

Then it was lunch time. Where did the morning go?! I didn't even realize it was already 1:00!

I put Kensley down for a nap and then took Maddox downstairs to watch Cars. I think he made it about 15 minutes. He slept for 3 hours! Kensley slept for 2 hours. Kallie was awake for a while and then she went down for her afternoon nap. So at one point, I had all 3 down for a nap! It was great! Soooo, after nap time, we headed outside. It was so pretty out. The kids got to play with the next door neighbors.

Then it was dinner time!

....and bath time....

....and then cartoon time before bed....

SO- there you have it. Our day with Maddox. We had a lot of fun and look forward to playing again tomorrow!

Home at last

Well, it's been a while since I blogged last. What a great time we had in Texas! I am exhausted trying to unpack and clean the house- it's crazy how the house can still get dirty even when you're not here. We have some friends coming up next week for their vacation so we want to have the house clean for them.

I've tried to take some pictures while we've been home. Yesterday, Kent stayed at home and worked. It was SO nice to have him here! Man I wish he could work from home everyday :) Kensley was all about daddy yesterday. After her nap, Kent took her with him to go grab some things at the grocery store. When she got back, our neighbors gave her a birthday gift. *Thanks girls!* Kensley is enjoying it :)

*Also, notice her Dora backpack for school! It has wheels- she loves it! She had to walk by the cart in Target while she rolled it behind her. Too cute.

While unpacking, Kallie has had fun playing on the floor. It's so crazy how much she's changed since we left. It's like we left home with an infant and came home with a big girl! When we left, I couldn't put her on the floor (she was still in the phase where she didn't want to be laying on her back. at all.) Now she rolls over, sits up and enjoys playing on the floor with Kensley.
Here she is- having a blast!

Here's miss Kensley getting in on the action. She looks tired here!

So-- after going through the girls' drawers and closet, I found that I had to start putting things away to make room for fall stuff. Kallie outgrew EVERYTHING in her drawers. It was a little overwhelming. Here's the pile of clothes from the drawer:

And I went through a drawer that had shoes in it. They were Kensley's old shoes. Again, I'm a little overwhelmed! Kallie has never even worn shoes before! haha

Last night we were able to grill chicken and have a healthy meal! I love all my mom's cooking, but it's nice to get away from all the sweet temptations there for a while! (it's nice to go there and eat sweets though) ;)

Our first meal at home- yummy!

And here were my helpers:

Kallie is OOF- oops- forgot to change my f/stop. :/ Too bad, because I liked this picture! Kensley is FINALLY smiling!

She was eating her "sickle" here

Kallie ended up taking a nap while we ate. This is what I walked in to find when she woke up.
Such a happy girl!

And to end this blog.... Kent had the girls in the bed lastnight before bedtime while I was in their rooms trying to pick up clothes that were EVERYWHERE. He called me to come in there. Kensley was being so sweet to Kallie and Kallie was just eating it up. They are so much fun!
