What a great Easter!

Aside from the fact we did not attend church :( That's the first time, I would venture to say EVER, that I missed an Easter sunday church service. I'm trying not to think about it too much.... I'll watch the sermon via podcast soon. Kensley has been sick and I didn't want to put her in the nursery with all the other kiddos. We ended up going to the Speedway Club with the Winn family. We had a lot of fun. Kensley loved the bunny rabbit. It was so funny! Katelinn, Alisen & Loren got to hunt eggs after our brunch. Kensley just watched all the kids run around. We came home and enjoyed the rest of the day together. We watched the Masters and I got our weekly grocery shopping done. Last night was a bad night- Kensley was up a LOT. I'm not sure what is going on. Do babies have a 7 month growth spurt? hmmmm.....

Here are a few pictures from yesterday.

Also, Saturday my mom and dad came up for just a little bit to bring Kensley her Easter gifts. Keep in mind that Kent was in Mexia FRIDAY and forgot to pick everything up! Men! :) But they enjoyed coming up and seeing Kensley. She got lots of goodies- I can't wait for the weather to warm up so she can wear some of her outfits! We ate our Easter dinner at Rosa's...Mmmm... I love their tortillas!
Here's Kensley with all her gifts! Kent & I managed to come away with a bag of peanut M&M's from Ging. Yea! (they're already all gone)

Sickness & Sun....

That's what Kensley has now! Yesterday Whitney & Holly & I took the babies to the park for an Easter egg hunt. We thought there would be a bigger turn out. It ended up being just a little picnic. It was so nice outside- the wind was a little cool, but the sun was out. We sat out in the sun because it was too cool to sit in the shade. Well, what happens when you sit outside in the sun for a couple hours with a baby with NO sunscreen on?? SUNBURN! Whitney & I both got a good chewing from the hubbies. They were not happy with us. And why we didn't think to put it on them, I'm not sure. We had it in our bags! Kensley's poor nose & under her eyes look really bad. Then yesterday afternoon, to top off the sunburn, she got a horrible cough. So last night was a really rough night for us. We're not use to having to get up so much. Kent even got up with her one time- she would eat but then just wine & cry. So rocking her was the fix. Poor baby girl. She still sounds horrible today. I just keep bulbing her nose out and I've been giving her Tylenol. The burn looks so painful!
My parents are headed up here now. We decided against going to Mexia for Easter since we had just been up there. I'm glad we did- it's been really nice to get to clean the house up and just be at our own home! My mom & dad got Kensley some really cute things for Easter and they wanted to bring them up here. I'm glad they're coming.....

Wow this week is almost over!

This week has really gone by fast. We got back home Monday and have been on the go ever since! Yesterday, Whitney & Hailey joined Kensley & I in Grapevine to get some bluebonnet pictures. I tried to do some at my parent's but they didn't turn out really well. We found a great place in Grapevine that were very full. Here's a couple of pictures of the girls...

Tomorrow we have an Easter egg hunt to go to. It's suppose to be really good weather. I'm excited- I always love get togethers with friends! We're going to stay up here this year for Easter. First time in years! I'm excited though- Sunday it's suppose to rain all day :-( I think we're going to try to do something with the Winn's.

Kensley is still working on crawling. I bought a rug for the living room the other day... it's nice to have that since the floor is so hard. I'm sure within the next month we'll have a crawling baby getting into everything!

She will take off....soon!

Crawling that is.... it makes me want to cry! She is growing up too fast! She's really been trying this week and has come really close. I didn't bring my video camera from home either! Luckily my mom has a point & shoot that I can get some video in of her trying. She also has this funny face going on..it's too cute!

Kensley as baby Jesus

Well Kensley had her debut last night! :-) She got to be baby Jesus at dress rehearsal for our Easter pageant. We're not having a baby Jesus this year (just toddler) so Shelly arranged for Kensley to be in the dress rehearsal. I was one of the first baby jesus's 25 years ago so it was kind of special to get her in there. I was able to get a few pictures. She did great- just looked around at everyone. She had her pacifier in her mouth along with her little keds on! oops- they forgot to take those off!

Tonight is our first performance. I'm a little nervous but excited at the same time. I am so glad I made this commitment this year. Hopefully there will be a few people at the performances that experience something they've never felt before...God!

Week away

Well this week we're away from home. I really miss Kent but am enjoying myself. We've been able to hang out with Ging and other family members... I get home cooked meals at lunch everyday- SO NICE! Pageant practice has been going good. I picked up the dances really quick. The girls are a lot of fun to be with. Kensley stayed with Ging & Grandmother one night and Mark & Liz last night and tonight. She has been doing so good! We took pictures today of her Uncle Kevin and her in the bluebonnets. They turned out pretty good!

Whoa... it's already Wednesday?!

Be aware.... I'm in blog overload mode... it's been a while!

Last weekend was Pink Impact. It was such a blessing! I am so glad Lindsey & I got to go together. The theme was "And then"..... talking about those "and then" moments in your life... example- I was doing this and that.....and then God gave me..... Anyways, It was very uplifting and helped my personal walk with God. There's times I'm just confused and I don't know what God wants me to do... not saying I have everything figured out- but this conference really helped and gave me hope about certain things. I recommend this to every woman I know next year! Go to gatewaypeople.com and you can get more info.

It's already Wednesday?!

This week has flown by, it seems. Next week we'll be back to visit family & I have to practice for pageant. I don't like being away from home (& Kent) that long but I wanted to make this commitment and glad I did. We've been laid back so far this week. Monday we stayed at the house- I cleaned and picked up... yesterday I took a spin class at 9 and then we just messed around the house the rest of the day. I made a couple tutus & bows. The weather turned out beautiful so Kensley & I went for a couple walks. I say couple- once Kent came home and left to work out, Kensley was a little clingy so I just put her in her stroller and we went for a walk. It was so peaceful out. Today is our last day to be "lazy". I think we're going to go to Whitney's so Kensley & Hailey can play and the mommas can visit! They'll be leaving us soon- which is sad to think about. I'm going to miss their company! Tomorrow we have Lifegroup and then the start of Pink Impact. I am so excited Lindsey & I signed up. I can't wait to see what God has to teach me! :)

Sunny Saturday

... I couldn't think of a title for my blog so I stole a friend, Whitney's ideas for titles :)

We've had a great day today. We're back in Mexia spending quality time with family. Kensley took pictures with bunnies today- I can't wait to see how the pictures turned out. Unfortunately, she wouldn't smile... AT ALL! She wasn't cranky- there was just so much going on that she was too into other things... she was funny with the little bunnies. We mainly hung out at Nonnie & Poppy's all day. She had her 6 month shots yesterday (we're almost a month behind). SHe did ok- there was a little more crying than usual... but she did good. The Dr. told me to start feeding her more food vs. milk- so today was our first day with three meals. I'm hoping she'll sleep all night tonight! We'll see :)

Poppy has been wanting to get her a swing at Wal Mart for a while now. It's one that you put on a tree outside. Today was so pretty- I wanted to go pick it up so she could swing. Dad & I went out to get it- Kensley loved it! She stayed in it for probably an hour! Nonnie, Poppy, Nana & Gramps, Great Grandma & Great Paw-Paw, Uncle Keith & Kyle were all outside. I love having all the family together- both sides. It makes me happy!! We all talked and Kensley stayed in her swing the whole time. Needless to say, once we got back into the house and she got her bath, she was wide awake ready to play!

We have lazy week ahead.........I'm excited.....
